Weekend Coverage Opportunity

Summary:

CT Radiographers are responsible for preparing and positioning patients for all exams, administering and monitoring oral and IV contrast administration, developing and adhering to protocols for exams, and having the ability to use all CT equipment in order to produce examinations of acceptable quality to insure that the study is complete for interpretation by the Radiologist.

Requirements

Education, Training or Certifications Required:

Minimum: Licensed Maine Radiologic Technologist with at least one full year experience in CT Scan.

Preferred: AS ABOVE, PLUS ANY OF THE FOLLOWING:

**ARRT advanced standing exam in CT technology

**Additional training in computer use or word processing

**More than one years' experience in CT Scan.

Experience Required:

Minimum: As under "Minimum" in Education Training.

Preferred: Maine license in Radiologic Technology with two years experience as a Radiographer and two years experience in CT Imaging; and successful completion of the ARRT advanced standing exam in CT scan.

Special Requirements:

1. Excellent interpersonal relationships.
2. Ability to perform diagnostic exams on patients ranging from the newborn to the geriatric patient.

Cognitive Requirements:

1. Excellent analytical skills and problem solving ability.
2. Ability to maintain professional demeanor and skills while working with patients who may be critically ill.

Environment:

1. Equipment that emits ionizing radiation.
2. Working with patients who have a wide variety of illnesses/conditions.
3. Requirement for a variety of day/night/holiday shifts.
4. Equipment requires air conditioners and dehumidifiers.

Physical Demands:

1. Excellent manual dexterity.
2. Physical strength to move patients and some equipment.
