Job Title: Senior Data Modeler (multiple positions) Location: Chicago, IL Responsibilities: Work closely with data subject matter experts (SMEs) to translate business needs into appropriate data documents by following established documentation standards (10%). Design logical data models (10%). Assist in creating data domain conceptual model (10%). For data domain without SMEs, research independently from various data sources to understand, document data structure and create data profile (30%). Design suitable physical data models under different solution requirements (20%). Participate in defining data architecture document standards and create template in data modeling tools to enforce enterprise data standard (10%). Publish and provide training to new physical data modelers, business analysts and developers, on how to utilize data architecture documents (10%). Requirements: · Master’s degree in Management Information Systems (MIS), Statistics, Economics, or a related field. · 2 years of relevant data modeler experience. · 2 years of experience with reading and understanding research and methodology documents to extract information. · 2 years of experience with extracting data characteristics through research and analysis on data. · 2 years of experience with database design concepts and data structure. · 2 years of experience with query languages. · 2 years of experience with R or scripting languages, including Python. · 2 years of experience with investment data.
