What will I do in the role of LPN Supervisor?

• Assume the role as a clinical leader with the supervision of nursing staff and coordination of all nursing activities to ensure the highest quality of care.
• Assist in developing, maintaining, and directing nursing service objectives/goals to provide the highest quality of nursing care for the health, welfare, and safety of all residents.
• Assign responsibility for and provide oversight of direct resident care by Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) and Certified Nurse Aides (CNAs) as appropriate.
• Administer medication and perform treatments as prescribed by the physicians.
• Review and revise resident care plans to assure that resident centered care needs are met and provided on a consistent routine basis.
• Coordinate with central supply to requisition and inventory all medical supplies. Monitor usage and quality of supplies.
• Assist in recruitment, selection and training/orientation of new team members with team members' involvement.
• Fosters a culture of safety, ensuring team members are following safe practices.
• Ensure that all regulations, standards and requirements are in compliance. Take an active role in mock and annual surveys with DOH. Assist with the completion and implementation of plans of correction with survey findings when indicated.

What do I need in the role of LPN Supervisor?

• Graduation from an accredited Practical Nursing Program.
• Current licensure by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing Examiners.
• Minimum of two years' experience, five years preferred, in nursing supervision/leadership
• Experience in Gerontology Nursing preferred
• Must possess self-direction in management of time, work, and related activities.
• Possess understanding, patience, and tact in dealing with people.
• Basic computer knowledge required.
• Must maintain current CPR Certification
• Must complete Nurse Supervisor training.
