Summary
Morgan & Morgan is seeking a Senior Financial Accountant in our Tampa office who will be responsible for all areas relating to financial reporting. The Senior Financial Accountant is responsible for developing and maintaining accounting principles, practices and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial statements. The Senior Financial Accountant will have contact with senior-level Attorneys and the firm’s Chief Financial Officer which requires strong interpersonal communication skills both written and verbal.
Responsibilities
Successful candidates will be responsible for all areas relating to financial reporting including but not limited to the following:
- Record daily and month transactions while adhering to GAAP
- Assist with Month End Close
- Operate with Due Diligence to support Accurate and Timely Financials
- Reconcile Intercompany Balances
- Identify solutions to Bank Rec Discrepancies
- Assist with Audit Preparation
- Accounting Support to Controller
- Liaison with other offices to gain insight
- Analyzing and Reporting Cost Variances
- Daily Bank Reconciliation
- Financial Statement Preparation
- Commission Report Preparation
- Support third party relationships with Bankers/External Auditors
- Maintain monthly Bank/Credit Card records
- Provide continuous follow-up to unresolved Bank/Account concerns
- Provide guidance when needed to Accounting 1 or Staff Accountants
Qualifications
- 3 years or more private accounting working experience
- Bachelor’s Degree Accounting/Finance Required
- Masters Degree in Accounting/Finance Preferred not required
- Month End Close Experience
- Self-Starter
- Financial Statement Review
- Account/Bank Reconciliation
- Confident Working Independently
- Critical Thinker
- Strong Communicator
- Strong Attention to Detail
- Strong level of Administrative Competence
- Ability to handle “Sensitive” information appropriately
