MORGAN ADVANCED MATERIALS is Hiring a Manufacturing Engineer Near Coudersport, PA

Overview

You will responsible for implementing automation to support growth and deliver measureable process improvements to the Morgan Advanced Materials Seals and Bearings global business unit. Leading cross-functional teams and working with external automation suppliers, the individual will work very closely with our site-based engineering & manufacturing groups to identify optimal automation solutions, support implementation and ensure appropriate metrics and control mechanisms are in place to achieve sustainable gains. Collaborating with key business leaders, this position will deliver industry best practice in automation through effective project management and implementation and ensure alignment to Morgan Advanced Materials thinkSafe and continuous improvement culture.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions:

  • Environmental, Health, and Safety; Ethics; and Morgan leadership behaviors
    • Ensures and promotes the Morgan thinkSafe and RBP culture.
    • Embodies the Morgan leadership behaviors through daily activities. 
  • Engineering
    • Collaborates with site and regional leadership teams and external automation suppliers to lead and facilitate automation process improvement project identification and selection in the specified region of the Seals and Bearings Global Business Unit, with a focus on efficiency, capacity and safety improvements.
    • Leads with site and regional teams the planning, resourcing, programming, project management, and execution of automation/robotic projects. Develop appropriate metrics for implementation and measurement of benefits.
    • Drives best practices and develops effective means to capture and share automation solutions across the Seals and Bearings business and through all of Morgan.
    • Participates in global continuous improvement and manufacturing process events, as required.
    • Support our engineering and technical teams by sharing knowledge and training users in problem solving and fault finding.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree in Engineering, Science or Technical Discipline or equivalent work experience
  • Implementation experience for industrial machine/robotics automation solutions
  • Open mindset with the ability to recognize improvement opportunities and deliver creative solutions through employee engagement
  • Ability to apply Lean and Six Sigma tools in project selection and execution (Belt certification favorable)
  • Leadership style must be conducive to change employee behaviors through effective coaching and ultimately ensure we build a team that is motivated to deliver exceptional results
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills with the ability to interface at all organizational levels
  • Working knowledge of EHS standards and their place within automation installation
  • Fluency in English (knowledge of other languages also favorable)

Candidates must be a US Person, defined as an individual that is a:

  • Citizen of the United States, or Permanent resident alien of the United States, or Protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3) as defined by 22CFR120.15
