Position Overview:

The primary function of the Physical Therapist is to perform and analyze tests and measurements of disabilities resulting from disease, injury; to plan, implement and modify treatment programs; to direct and supervise physical therapy services; to participate in discharge planning; to pursue professional growth; assist with educational duties and perform administrative and other duties as required. Must comply with all aspects of the Colorado Physical Therapy Act in providing physical therapy services.


Essential Functions:

a) Demonstrates clinical expertise in the principles and practice of physical therapy, including evaluation of patients, development of plan of care, treatment plan, and knowledge of discharge criteria.

b) Demonstrates knowledge in current treatment modalities and procedures and their safe usage.

c) Maintains documentation according to department standards.

d) Responsible for professional conduct, ethical practice and professional growth and development.

e) Responsible for interpersonal relationships.

f) Responsible for time management and productivity.

g) Responsible for other duties as needed.

h) Follows hospital-wide standards.


Physical Demands and Working Conditions:

Physical Demands: Ability to lift twenty (20) pounds. Moving, lifting or transferring of patients may involve lifting of up to fifty (50) pounds, as well as assist with weights of more than one-hundred (100) pounds. Ability to stand for extended periods. Fine motor skills. Visual acuity.


Qualifications & Skills:

a) Education: Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy or BS in related field plus certification or Master's or Doctorate Degree in P.T. Must be a graduate of Physical Therapy program accredited by the A.P.T.A.

b) Training & Experience: Current licensure by State of Colorado as a P.T.

c) Job Knowledge: Relates well with various people and personalities of all ages. Demonstrates good judgment and problem solving skills in a variety of staff and patient-related situations. Recognition of own limitations in practice and ability to seek out support and expertise of others. Demonstrates maturity as related to emotional involvement and self-assessment skills. Demonstrates ability to be flexible and adaptable. Demonstrates good verbal and written language skills including correct spelling and medical terminology. Demonstrates strong formal and informal clinical teaching skills. Demonstrates the ability to delegate effectively. Basic CPR certification. Ability to work with patients of all ages. Awareness of Medicare and other insurance's regulations for coverage of physical therapy services.

Candidates must have a minimum of 1 year of experience and specialized training for the position in order to be eligible for the bonus
