Job Summary

Montauk Renewables, Inc. is seeking an analytically-minded, multi-tasking, highly-organized Senior Financial Analyst to join our team. This position, under the direction of the Business Development department, will be responsible for the modeling, forecasting and budgeting of all organic and strategic growth projects, including mergers and acquisitions. The position will also be responsible for standardizing economic models for all of our business segment development metrics, as well as sourcing, archiving and keeping current all pertinent assumptions that underpin the economics of all development project opportunities. This position will be the primary liaison to finance in providing current development models as a basis for forecast and budget information. This role will support the development department with financial modeling of both organic and strategic growth of the company including mergers and acquisitions. This role serves as a key liaison across all internal departments and facilities and external vendors that support both development opportunities and their underlying economic assumptions.

Job Description:

• Create and maintain all financial models related to organic and strategic development opportunities, including mergers and acquisitions
• Create and maintain a database of key assumptions necessary to accurately model development opportunities
• Standardize development models across all existing and potential new business segments
• Create financial analysis summaries of development opportunities for Board, Bank and Senior Management approvals
• Analyze financial records of acquisition targets, including records of present and past operations, trends and costs, estimated and realized revenues, administrative commitments, and obligations incurred to develop valuation ranges
• Work closely with cross-functional partners in engineering, operations, environmental and accounting departments to ensure accuracy in financial models
• Provide Forecast and Budget information related to development projects
• Serve as liaison for financial related valuation, appraisal, and purchase price allocation related to M&A strategic growth opportunities
• Lead the financial due diligence associated with acquisition targets to validate the valuation assumptions, including discount rate assumptions, internal rates of return, and payback periods
• Support other ad hoc corporate finance initiates and projects
• Conduct various ad hoc analysis to support strategic decision making as needed by management
• Other duties as assigned

Position Qualifications:

• 4-6 years of progressive experience in business development, financial planning, and/or financial analysis.
• Advanced computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel
• Strong communicator – written and verbal
• Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or a related field
• Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
• Demonstrated understanding of financial modeling, valuation and financial statements required
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills
