Monday Night Brewing is an award-winning craft brewery based out of Atlanta, with a distribution footprint across Georgia, Alabama, and Tennessee. We currently operate two taprooms in Atlanta, GA, a brewpub in Birmingham, AL and a taproom in Nashville, TN. In our eleventh year of operation, we are proud to produce a vast portfolio—spanning from small batch New England IPAs to barrel-aged stouts, approachable kettle sours to mixed culture ambers, hop-forward West Coast IPAs to craft hard seltzers.

Monday Night Brewing (Atlanta, GA) is seeking a Cellar Person to join our tight-knit, growing team. This is a full-time position, available immediately, based in Atlanta, GA, to support our world-class brewing operations.

Reports to:

  • Production Manager

High-Level Goals:

  • Work with brew, cellar and packaging team to produce a world-class product.
  • Advance brewing knowledge and skills as measured by progress in Key Competencies Matrix.
  • Contribute to and maintain a culture of safety, cleanliness and accuracy.
  • Work with Production Leadership to help produce unique beers for our tasting rooms.

Responsibilities:

Brewdeck:

  • Wort production
  • Yeast management
  • Monitoring of product throughout fermentation
  • All aspects of cellar work - including CIP/SIP of fermentation, bright beer tanks and packaging equipment, dry hopping and fining in process beer, and racking and carbonating finished beer
  • QA/QC duties, including sensory evaluation and lab work
  • General brewery cleaning
  • Attend industry events and provide support to sales/marketing departments when needed
  • Raw materials monitoring, receiving and handling
  • Collaborate with Brewmaster, Head Brewer and brewing team on any processes that may impact beer quality
  • Follow written SOP’s; accountable for SOP execution
  • Monitoring brewing and processing of batches to control quality, consistency and efficiency
  • Monitoring, executing and reporting daily, weekly, monthly and yearly cleaning and maintenance tasks
  • Ensure and maintain the highest safety standards for production and brewery staff
  • Communicate daily with Head Brewer on scheduled tasks, issues encountered, and priorities

Cellar:

  • Perform daily maintenance of cellar so that it is clean, organized, and functional; capable of supporting both the brewing and packaging departments.
  • Use proper documentation of all processes and completed tasks in system of record (written and digital).
  • Understand and apply proper chemical usage and sanitary practices in the brewery.
  • Caustic and acid CIP and sanitation of tanks and equipment.
  • Complete tank breakdown and inspection as part of CIP process.
  • Centrifuge CIP and operation.
  • Execute transferring (racking) of beers from FV to BT.
  • Execute carbonation of beers in-line and post-transfer.
  • Prepare juice and soda mixtures and various adjuncts as needed.
  • Execute cold-side juice hop and other adjunct additions as needed.
  • Perform yeast operations including pulling samples for lab checks, performing cell counts, cone-to-cone pitching, pitching using the Perfect Pitch, harvesting to propagator and harvesting to yeast brinks.
  • Regular sensory analysis of in-process and finished beers to ensure brand consistency and lack of off-flavors.
  • Communication of any equipment or facilities needs to cellar manager or head brewer.
  • Communication of and follow-up on any maintenance request to ensure fully functioning equipment in the cellar (pumps, regulators, etc.).
  • Attendance at weekly production meetings and quarterly company-wide meetings.

Qualifications:

● Must be 21

● Dynamic, action-oriented team player that is self-motivated and good problem-solving ability

● Ability to communicate effectively with coworkers and management

● Basic math skills

● Flexible working schedule, Monday-Friday rotating hours

Compensation:

● $21-22 hourly, reviewed annually
