Crisis Line Per-Diem Supervisor
The Monadnock Center for Violence Prevention is the only non-profit agency in the Monadnock Region solely committed to supporting survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and stalking, and to breaking the cycle of violence through school, community, and business prevention education programs
Ø Volunteer ~ Can work in the office, attend meetings and activities, cover phone lines from home after hours.
Ø Per-Diems ~ Are not allowed to work in the office or attend meetings and activities. Per-diem is only covering phone lines on call from home. You cannot volunteer your time because you are on the payroll.

A successful Crisis Line Advocate will:
· Attend a 35-hour training
· Put in 6 hours of training in office before taking shifts on call
· Be responsible for two shifts before you are put on payroll (if per-diem)
· Communicate with staff, per-diems and volunteers
· Be trauma informed
· Have a strong desire to help empower victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, and stalking.
· Respect client confidentiality and provide support in a non-judgmental manner
· Be reliable in covering chosen shifts and completing paperwork
· Supervise and provide support and assistance to advocates answering the crisis line during non-business hours.
A Crisis Line Supervisor’s activity include:
· Responding by phone to crisis calls within 10 minutes
· Responding to hospital calls within 30 minutes
· Log all client calls within one week of contact
· Providing peer counseling and information and referrals to callers
· Communication with office staff and other per-diems and volunteers
*Provide supervision and support to advocates during shared shifts.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Minimum of an undergraduate degree, or equivalent experience in a related field
- 35 hours of training in accordance with NH RSA 173C (provided by MCVP)
Skills:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Highly organized
- Strong attention to detail
- Crisis intervention and advocacy skills
- Supervisory skills
- Trauma-informed care
Knowledge:
- Understanding of issues related to domestic violence, sexual violence, and stalking
- Knowledge of local community resources
- Adequate computer facility, including word processing and Outlook
Responsible to: Direct Services Program Director
