TITLE: Graphic Designer

LOCATION: San Diego, CA or Kihei, HI

STATUS: Full Time Non-Exempt

REPORTS TO: VP of Marketing

THE BIG PICTURE

The Graphic Designer reports to the VP of Marketing and will lead our day-to-day design needs. They will work in conjunction with the Brand Directors and VP of the Marketing team in order to create visual collateral for the Craft 'Ohana Brands. Craft 'Ohana is a family of beverage brands encompassing locally known Modern Times Beer & Coffee as well as Maui Brewing, Maui Hard Seltzer, and Kupu Spirits. Candidates must share Craft ‘Ohana’s commitment to its four operating pillars: Quality of Products, Quality of Life, Quality of Business Practices, and Quality of Manufacturing Operations.

THE EVERYDAY VIEW

• Prepare design work as needed by various internal parties in the organization, gathering information and materials and collaborating as necessary with other members of the design team
• Obtain approvals of all art from Brand Directors
• Participate in group critiques to work collaboratively with all marketing team members to achieve the best work possible
• Prepare finished and approved artwork for output
• Complete projects by coordinating with outside agencies, art services, printers, etc.
• Design and maintain print and web projects for various brewery locations
• Assist in the tactile art projects required for various tasting rooms, including creation and installation assistance
• Be a team player and able to interact with all levels within the organization
• Adhere to and enforce all applicable local, state, and federal laws, rules, and regulations
• Other tasks as needed
• Must be 21 years of age or older at the time of application
• Up to 20% travel time may be required to other properties

DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• Able to pass a post-offer, pre-employment reference, and background check
• At least 2 years of professional design experience
• Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite
• Knowledge of front-end and back-end web design
• Able to take constructive feedback on designs for the best final product
• A college degree in design preferred
• Must be highly organized with attention to detail
• Must be self-motivated and able to work independently
• Strong interpersonal skills and a love for meeting and interacting with people
• Thorough attention to detail and desire to take initiative
• Must adhere to the company’s policies and procedures

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS

• Able to work in an office environment and perform work at a desk for extended periods of time
• Able to both work and thrive in a high-stress environment that has a quiet to moderate noise level
• Able to stand, walk, and be on your feet for prolonged periods
• Able to read and follow written instructions
• Able to regularly twist, turn, kneel, climb, stoop, bend, crawl, lift and carry supplies and equipment weighing up to 55 pounds using appropriate techniques and tools
• Able to safely navigate the tasting room and snack bar areas, including crowded spaces
• Able to maneuver packages of any weight above 75 pounds with appropriate equipment and/or assistance
• Able to move 165-pounds, using appropriate techniques and tools
• Able to work in a factory/production environment that may be loud, slick, humid, cold, and hot
• Able to work in indoor and outdoor environments with moderate noise and occasionally slippery floors
• Able to comply with and enforce all health, safety, and personal hygiene policies and standards
