Job Description: Are you looking to begin a career in IT? At Modern Pest Services, we know how important it is to protect homes and businesses from damaging and disease-carrying pests, and we believe that every member of our team is instrumental in achieving this goal. To support the needs of our community, Modern Pest is currently seeking an entry-level IT Specialist to join our team based out of our Executive Office, located in Brunswick, ME. Prior IT experience is not a requirement! As a member of this professional and client-focused group, you will provide best-in-class technical assistance and support to users at all levels across the organization. In this role, you’ll be responsible for installation and support of Modern’s personal computer technology and hardware, such as printers, scanners/fax machines, handheld devices, etc. While IT experience will be helpful in this role, it is not a requirement; we are willing to train a tech-minded, individual who is excited to pursue a future in IT and possesses the necessary customer service and passion for excellence to succeed. Other duties include: Broad range of network and desktop knowledge including Azure Active Directory, Exchange Online, Remote Support, Microsoft 365, and Ticketing Systems. Manages asset lifecycle of laptops and other equipment as needed, including technology infrastructure throughout New England. Communicates with the staff of varying technical expertise to assess, troubleshoot, and address technology issues as they occur. Coordinates with managed service providers and vendors. Demonstrates working knowledge of moderately complex hardware and software products and problem solving/troubleshooting skills. Performs first-line administrative functions, including email management, the addition and deletion of users, and directory maintenance for Azure Active Directory. Office 365. Contributes to all technology upgrades, new software or technology deployment, and new policy implementation. Communicates with, trains, and educates employees on IT systems, changes, and policies. Demonstrated strong self-motivation, discretion, and independent work with limited supervision. EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, AND SKILLS REQUIRED High School diploma or equivalent required. 1 years of IT/IS/Helpdesk experience required, 3 years preferred. No pest management experience is necessary. Very good interpersonal skills to work with both technical and nontechnical personnel at various levels in the organization. Must be able to resolve most technology issues independently and appropriately forward escalated or high-priority tickets/issues to their manager with discretion. Must possess strong organizational, analytical, and mathematical skills, excellent telephone, oral and written communication skills. Must be dependable and honest, have good judgment/decision making ability, and must have a positive attitude and excellent work ethics. Must be detail and quality oriented.
