Role Description

THE POSITION:
The Database Administrator (DBA) will support the database management system and all related software Design and Build Database Environments. A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Management of Information Systems (MIS) or equivalent work experience and a Database Administrator Certification required.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Provide technical support and perform database administration for all development and production databases on multiple environments.
  • Manage and Maintain Infrastructure and Databases.
  • Analyzes user needs to determine technical requirements.
  • Designs and develops high-quality reusable code/ configurations.
  • Tests, debugs, analyzes and fixes application problems/issues.
  • Interacts with internal stakeholders to support product releases and/or resolve program problems. Other duties and projects as assigned.
  • Experience in migrations, and database configurations, exposure and experience in Azure Cloud and tools preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Knowledge of Agile.
  • Ability to provide solutions to a variety of technical problems of moderate scope and complexity independently.
  • Strong technical, analytical, and development skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills; effective customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently or within a team environment and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Extensive experience (5 years) that includes serving as a DBA in all facets of DBMS design, implementation, deployment, administration and maintenance, and project coordination.
  • Five (5) years or more of experience in database environment life cycle management and support of production and development environments.
  • Experienced in database and disk system performance tuning
  • Expert level MySQL DBA knowledge and experience with MySQL 5.6, 5.7 and 8.0 - MySQL certification preferred.
  • Extensive MySQL technical experience and Disaster Recovery solutions Backup and recovery experience.
  • Performance tuning, production operations & support Security Administration.
  • Experience performing MySQL patches and upgrades.

  • Protect confidential information by not communicating, disclosing to, or using for benefit of 3rd parties.

  • Perform other such duties as may be required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EDUCATION :

  • Education and/or Experience: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Management of Information Systems (MIS) from four-year college or university, and at least five (5) years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Database Administrator Certification required.
  • Language Skills: Ability to read, and follow procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, customers.
  • Mathematical Skills: Knowledge in basic mathematical skills.
  • Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal multiple projects at any given time.
  • Computer Skills: Knowledgeable of SQL, CITRIX, PC software and hardware configurations. Competent knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Networking, e-Mail, and Microsoft Office.
