Job Description

We’re seeking several talented individuals to join the team as Medical Billing Specialists. Our Medical Billing Specialists provide administrative support in the collections process working with our customers (insurance companies, prescribers, patients and pharmacies) on billing related to prescription processing. Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

• Inquire to and correspond with customers in attempt to collect on unpaid prescriptions
• Place calls or send messages to those with unresolved issues
• Review claims to ensure blocks are placed to prevent bad debt and remove blocks when appropriate so that medications can be processed
• Maintain the database by entering, updating, and retrieving data
• Assist in resolution of outstanding invoice problems from past due accounts
• Identify and escalate payment issues according to established procedures

Qualifications

• No previous industry experience is required as we provide comprehensive on-the-job training
• Basic computer and keyboarding skills are required; Microsoft Office suite is a plus
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including good grammar and diction
• Maintain a positive and professional demeanor during all business interactions
• Effectively analyze factors concerning risk and liability
• Make sound decisions with an ability to learn quickly
• Work independently with minimal supervision
• Outstanding time management and prioritization skills
• Understanding of medical terminology and billing is desired
• Ability to sit for long periods (up to 8 hours per day)

Education: Minimum High School diploma or GED equivalent required. Some training in medical billing and experience in collections would be a plus.
