ABOUT THE POSITION:

As a Product Engineer, you will promote the sales and profitability of Misumi products through project management, sales and marketing, and customer support activities. This includes assisting with the develop and execution of product strategies, product development projects, offering technical expertise to customers, and acting as a subject matter expert. Responsibilities include:

• Assisting with the execution of product strategies.
• Assisting with the full product development life cycle including establishing business cases, coordinating cross-organizational teams, documenting, and launch
• Working with customers (internal and external) to identify specification and manufacturing requirements, and collaborate / negotiate with members to optimize quality, cost and lead time.
• Creating and delivering technical presentations to engineering groups as a subject matter expert.
• Providing technical design support and education both internally and externally on products including materials, fits, tolerances, lifespans, engineering calculations, sizing, CAD models, website, and functions via phone and email
• Handling large, custom, and competitor cross-over quoting opportunities between customers and internal departments (domestic and overseas)
• Ensuring compliance to quality and work, if needed, with the customer service and procurement teams on quality claims.
• Maintaining product databases, website contents, and catalog product information for accuracy and changes.

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU:

• 3-5 years of Design, and/or Application engineering experience in mechanical products in the automation/assembly field.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint)
• Experience with project management, preferably with product development, going through sophisticated stage-gate process.
• Excellent written, communication, problem solving and influencing soft skills.
• Highly motivated, driven, responsible, possess leadership, and results oriented.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes and equipment preferred.
