Primary Job Function

To complete the nutritional assessment and develop an appropriate nutritional plan for each resident

Essential Job Functions

• Responsible to determine the nutritional status of the residents on his/her case load and other residents as assigned
• Responsible to assess and determine the effects of intervention of the residents nutritional status
• Participates as member of the health care team planning and delivering appropriate resident care
• Provides counsel to residents, families and staff in nutritional principles
• Director of Nutritional Services with evaluation of food served to residents and staff- assuring proper quantities, temperature, and quality standards of food served achieved
• Participates in quality assurance performance improvement plans (QAPI) as assigned
• Presents nutritional education and appropriate in-services to personnel when requested
• Responsible for knowing and maintaining high quality standards of food production and write, portion control using standardized recipes provided
• Adequately complete and maintain data, reports and assessments
• Responsible to complete the education/requirements in order to maintain registration and licensure
• Serve on committees as assigned

Qualifications

• Current licensed registered dietitian
• Up to date on continuing education
• Previous experience in a long-term care facility preferred
