Job Summary
The Ophthalmic Assistant performs basic ophthalmic patient work. Enters data in the electronic medical records and updates patient demographics. Collects patient information and performs basic age-appropriate eye exams, basic ocular measurements, and pupil reaction. Prepares eye exam lanes before and in between patient care.
Pay Range
Minimum $22.63 Midpoint $29.99 Maximum $37.34
Rate of pay is determined by various factors, including but not limited to knowledge, skills, competencies, experience, education, as well as position requirements.
This position is Part Time, non-benefited and is located in Mission Viejo, CA.
Experience
Required: Minimum two (1) year of experience in an Ophthalmology/Optometry office.

Preferred: Pediatric clinical experience.

Education
Required: High School Diploma/GED or equivalent.

Required: N/A

Licensure
Required: Basic Life Support (BLS), Must obtain Certified Ophthalmology Assistant within one (1) year of CHOC onboarding

Preferred: Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA).
Work Environments - Functional Demand:
Medium - High energy level Lift and carry 40-50 lbs. Push/pull /- 150-200 lbs. (Patients on bed, stretcher) Lateral transfer 150-200 lbs. (ie. Patient) .
