Mission Veterinary Partners is Hiring a Regional Operations Director Near Dallas, TX

Mission Veterinary Partners is growing and looking for an additional Regional Operations Director to join our team in Dallas, TX! Develop a team of Practice Managers while maintaining a positive work culture and supporting the financial growth of each practice managed.

SUMMARY:
The Regional Operations Director is a key member of Mission Veterinary Partners (MVP), management team. This position reports to the Senior Operations Director and is responsible for the general management and oversight of operations at his/her assigned MVP clinics. This position provides strategic and tactical leadership, counsel, and direction to the field management team to ensure safe, efficient, therapeutic, and ethical patient care. Additionally, this position identifies and develops strategic growth opportunities, monitors performance, and works closely with leadership to develop competitive strategies in alignment with Mission Veterinary Partners mission and values. Position has budget and P&L accountability.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

P&L Responsibility
  • Responsible to build a clinic level business plan annually for each clinic in territory
    • Budget
    • Clinic level Initiatives
    • Capital expenditures (CapEx)
  • Responsible for achieving clinic level EBITDA budget for every MVP clinic in territory
    • Manage financial and revenue growth, operations and labor management, and contract compliance
  • Works closely with leadership of each clinic in territory to meet the revenue budget for that clinic
  • Collaborate with Practice Managers
    • Work together with clinic leaders (at a minimum) to build a clinic level business plan
    • Get clinic level business plan approved by leadership
    • Create clinic level buy-in for the plan
  • Execute each clinic level business plans in your territory
    • Achieve all scorecard items determined during business planning
    • Track metrics and success criteria including ROI for all CapEx activities
    • Analyze and ensure success for clinic level trends impacting net promoter score
  • Execute the implementation of initiative-taking programs, operational improvements, communications, and other general management responsibilities
  • Lead the creation and implementation of Mission Veterinary Partners operating strategies based on the identification of Best Demonstrated Practices
  • Maintain awareness and knowledge of competition; proactively assess related SWOT (clinic strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats); analyze and implement effective responses
  • Create a business plan for each new clinic acquired in your area and maintain all goals set in Monday.com on a regular basis
  • Report controlled substance compliance and control issues to Leadership
  • Develop positive work relationships with all levels of management and other departments; work collaboratively with Medical Lead, Practice Managers, Leadership, and clinic staff
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with veterinarians consistent with Mission Veterinary Partners code of conduct and Compliance Commandments
  • Build and maintain a team of knowledgeable, skilled teammates (including management) who function in compliance with all Mission Veterinary Partners mission and values
  • Travel required: up to 75%

Client Experience
  • Ensure that the Client Bill of Rights are upheld in each clinic
  • Responsible for achieving client satisfaction (NPS) according to the clinic business plan
  • Support the Practice Manager to ensure the appearance of the clinic (exterior and interior) enhances the client experience
  • Prioritizes equipment and facility maintenance projects in the territory and force ranks the projects for approval
  • Advise Practice Managers as it relates to the review, analysis, and provide suggestions to address gaps in service excellence, policies, and/or procedures proactively; identify issues and implement solutions
  • Develop clientele management strategies including retention, ACT maximization, reminder system management and client care improvements

Teammate Management
  • Responsible for achieving Employee satisfaction (ENPS) according to the clinic business plan
  • Create and accomplish an annual personal plan for each practice manager in your territory
  • Lead the implementation of teammate development processes and succession planning including mentoring, coaching, training, scholastic development, compassion fatigue abatement and modeling appropriate leadership behaviors
  • Provide leadership to direct reports and strategic leadership to company
    • Help direct reports overcome any organizational obstacles encountered
    • Develop and foster a positive, fulfilling work environment within each clinic
    • Know, understand, implement, follow, and communicate to teammates all Mission Veterinary Partners employment policies and procedures, awards, and other opportunities within company
    • Develop and ensure effective implementation of all corporate programs including but not limited to annual manager bonus process, awards and goals, continuous improvement initiatives
    • Identify and implement methods that enable all division teammates to excel in their assigned roles in a team environment; develop and foster a positive work environment
    • Review, analyze, and implement staffing plans that promote the most effective use of teammates

Clinic Operations
  • Working closely with the Practice Managers along with the Medical Leads in each hospital to ensure that the clinics are staffed properly
  • Position has full supervisory responsibility for recruitment, hiring, promoting, retention, performance development, performance management, salary adjustments, teammate relations, disciplinary actions, and termination of direct reports. Position has general, overall responsibility for teammate decisions within territory. These actions are performed to achieve the clinic business plan
  • Know, understand, follow, and implement wage and hour laws, federal, state, and local laws and regulations, Medicare, and legislation affecting employment; ensure compliance with all laws and regulations including Teammate Health and Safety Training Program and Mission Veterinary Partners healthcare clinical and safety standards
  • Support at the clinic level for conflict resolution, Performance Improvement Plans (PIP), and employee engagement.
  • Ensuring each clinic's facility is in proper working order. This includes, but not limited to, heating and cooling, parking lot, unsightly repairs, handicap accessible needs, lobby and exam room functionality, and safety regulated needs
  • Supporting the clinic to guarantee technology, such as phones, computers and credit card machines are in working order. Manage an initiative-taking plan so that technology needs are always met
  • Support each clinic is administering the following effectively:
    • Human Resource Needs
      • Workplace safety
      • Core values are adhered
      • On-boarding and off-boarding employees
      • Training
      • Upholding the team member handbook in each clinic
    • Inventory management
      • Scheduled inventory counts
      • Adhering to controlled drug policies
      • Managing proper inventory levels at each clinic
    • Payroll / benefits
      • Ensure all employees are aware of MVP benefits
      • Support practice managers and the home office staff in payroll processing
      • Confirm PTO, FMLA, ADA, Workers Compensation, along with other employee related issues are being managed properly at each clinic in your territory
    • Accounts payable
      • Support the clinic staff on getting all invoice approved for payment
      • Audit / approve the BBVA (credit card) spending at the clinic level
      • Ensure all employee reimbursements at the clinic level are executed in a timely and accurate manner
  • Along with the clinic leadership, create a marketing plan for each clinic. Combine local, home office and shared initiatives for best results

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • CVPM preferred
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years progressive management experience required
  • Healthcare provider operating experience strongly preferred; veterinary or similar provider services experience preferred
  • Demonstrated history of successful fiscal and operating management
  • Demonstrated experience in planning and managing at operational levels
  • Demonstrated history in leading a team with accountability and successful achievement of superior patient care, operations, and financial results
  • Advanced computer skills and proficiency in MS Excel required; intermediate skills and proficiency in MS Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint required
  • Fluent in the written and verbal skills necessary to successfully perform the essential functions, duties, and responsibilities of the position
  • Physical requirements can vary. These must review with management. However, in general, the position requires the following physical activities:
    • Ability to lift minimum of two pounds to a maximum of twenty pounds unassisted; able to sit stand, stoop, walk, stretch, reach frequently; moderate range of body motions
    • Ability to hear and interact by phone and in person clearly and efficiently and to make presentations
    • Ability to use computer and all peripherals efficiently
