THIS IS FULL-TIME, YEAR-ROUND POSITION LOCATED ON MACKINAC ISLAND, MI.

Mission Point Resort, Mackinac Islands' only full service, casual resort is currently seeking candidates to fill the position of Guest Services Manager. This full time/year-round position is located on Mackinac Island and offers competitive pay, housing, benefits, and numerous other perks. The ideal applicant will have four or more years of experience in Hotel Guest Service leadership at a hotel/resort property with more than a hundred rooms, possess an upbeat leadership style, and have experience working in a multi-cultural environment.

POSITION SUMMARY

As the Guest Services Manager, you will fill a key leadership role with an industry-recognized leader in hospitality management services. The Operations Manager will oversee the resort operations with a focus on guest services, and other resort operational areas to provide Mission Point Resort guests with exceptional service. The primary role of the Operations Manager is to ensure the highest service when guests check-in and out and their luggage is properly handled. They will also work with the Recreation & Retail team to ensure a smooth operation of all resort activities, bike rental, gift shops and the golf course. This individual will ensure that guest requests are responded to promptly and will direct his/her team by performing a variety of training reviews to ensure a consistent guest experience.

Qualifications


REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Must have a college degree and/or have 4 years of professional management experience (with at least 2 years as a Front Desk Manager)
  • Ability to work 50-60 hours a week including evenings, weekends and holidays
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to problem solve and make decisions guided by policy and procedures
  • Be professional, responsible and mature in conduct and behavior
  • Proven experience supervising departments of 15 employees
  • Previous experience in executing against operating budgets, with an established history of meeting or exceeding established financial objectives
  • Working knowledge of Rooms Management Systems (Maestro and Silverware experience is a plus)
