THE ROLE

The Chief Engineer will be responsible for resolving repair requests and maintenance of our three Mint House properties guest spaces and apartments in downtown Philadelphia. This individual enjoys rolling up their sleeves, is detail- oriented, and efficient with their time to attend to all of our apartments at flexible times. Reporting directly to our Market Lead, the Chief Engineer will act as a role model by acting with integrity at all times and has our motto "helping each other so we can help our guests" rooted in their DNA. 

AT MINT HOUSE YOU WILL

• Perform preventative and repair maintenance work to ensure that our property is maintained according to established quality and brand standards 
• Conduct thorough apartment inspections and maintenance checks to be proactive of any guest maintenance concerns to uphold a frictionless experience 
• Create maintenance programs to ensure multiple locations are up to standard and code
• Complete periodic maintenance of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and other room and building equipment
• Instruct and supervise a small maintenance team as well as coordinate and oversee contractors as they complete specialized work 
• Assist with day to day operations with the direction from the Market Lead
• Respond and resolve guest repair requests in a timely manner and focus on guest satisfaction scores
• Stay accessible and communicate each day’s activities and problems that occur to the Market Lead and on-site staff
• Conduct inventory of maintenance supplies & provide Market Lead with purchasing requests
• Travel to various buildings as required

WE ARE LOOKING FOR

• 3 year of maintenance technician work; experience working at a hotel or property is a plus 
• HVAC certification is required for our property and excellent understanding of mechanical, electric, and plumbing systems 
• Ability to take initiative and problem solve independently as well as be a reliable team player who is willing to jump in when needed with other aspects of daily operations
• Familiarity with Excel and ability to keep inventory up to date on maintenance supplies 
• Understand the importance of attention to detail and effective communication while interacting with guests and our virtual guest agent team 
• Ability to remain calm under pressure and have a guest-centric attitude 
• Be able to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 25 pounds without assistance
• Must have a flexible schedule to work holidays and weekends as business require
• This role requires regular access to reliable transportation on a daily basis when working
