Minnetronix Medical is Hiring an Intern- Computer Technician I Near St. Paul, MN

Job Summary:

Computer Technician 1’s work alongside other experienced Technicians to provide IT helpdesk services directly to end users. Services include computer provisioning, software installation, technical troubleshooting, hardware replacements, and operating system administration. Computer Technician 1’s provide solutions to a variety of routine technical problems of limited scope and complexity. They possess a service-oriented mindset, pay attention to detail by following established processes and procedures, and are proficient at triaging problems at a high level.

Job Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Use Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) to provision computers for employees, labs & manufacturing lines
  • Provide in-person and remote support to end users
  • Identify, troubleshoot and resolve routine technical problems including software errors, driver problems, faulty hardware, etc., interacting with vendor support channels as necessary (Dell, HP, Cisco, etc.)
  • Provision equipment such as phones, printers, mobile devices, network devices, etc. 
  • Backup and retire obsolete equipment in accordance with company procedures
  • Follow established processes to provision new users and assign permissions to information resources
  • Triage front-line security problems and respond or escalate as necessary
  • Record all troubleshooting activity in support systems and maintain existing support information in knowledge bases
  • Maintain a predictable, consistent schedule

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Associate degree in-hand or in-progress
  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • Basic knowledge of Windows 10
  • Good general troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to follow technical instructions and checklists
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)
  • Ability to prioritize well and follow the direction of superiors
  • Physical ability to lift and install computers and peripherals up to 50 lbs.
  • Technical certifications are preferred, such as:
  • CompTIA IT Fundamentals
  • Microsoft Technology Associate (MTA)
  • Ability to work 30 hours per week
