Minnesota Wild is Hiring an Innovation Analyst Near St. Paul, MN

Our Marketing team creates value and experiences for the passionate fans that drive Minnesota Sports and Entertainment. That experience can come from attending a game live at Xcel Energy Center, watching on TV, listening on radio, following the Wild on the web or social channels, or just catching a different Wild event. This takes all sorts of talented people that have a passion for sports and events. Our marketing vision puts service at the heart of everything we do, both on and off the ice. Our Innovation Strategist plays a key role in bringing that vision to life.

The Innovation Analyst is the organization steward for idea collection and innovation management. Specifically, this involves an analysis of the opportunities, risks, strengths, and weaknesses, as well as the derivation of important issues of the future and the purpose and vision of what we want to achieve with innovation. In this role, you will have the unique opportunity to work with senior leadership to shape the future of the Minnesota Wild.

As our Innovation Analyst, YOU WILL:

  • Build dynamic models which will help evaluate innovative opportunities. Our organization is committed to innovation. You will build financial models that will include measuring the economic opportunity, risk and mitigation factors, and working capital and cash flow that scope out the financial justification for new business opportunities.

  • Manage the innovation portfolio. You will coordinate all process steps and tasks that are responsible for achieving innovation objectives. You will support innovation projects from the beginning to the end and then hand it over to the operative business.

  • Unlock ideas. Innovation doesn’t happen in a vacuum. You will collaborate with stakeholders in our organization to find the next big idea for the Minnesota Wild. You will help build a culture that fosters innovative thinking and work with core business teams to uncover new opportunities that move the organization forward.

  • Define the innovation process. You’ll team up with the Director of Innovation to build and improve the organization’s innovation process. This includes defining the best ways to communicate innovation progress updates, create reports and dashboards, and update executive management and other internal project stakeholders.

As our Innovation Analyst, YOU ARE A:

  • Self-starter. Our business is fueled by growth, which requires innovation to drive new revenues. You are great at finding new ways to drive effectiveness and efficiency in things we do every day, while also identifying and vetting new ideas that can turn into products and services that our fans will love. You will be front and center, blazing a path forward for the organization.

  • Problem Solver. Our team is focused on getting better every day. You’ll be at the center of all we do, so we expect that you don’t wait for permission, you seek out problems or inefficiencies in our processes, and solve them before we even know they’re there. There is going to be a lot of ambiguity, so we need someone who is comfortable making sound assumptions to solve even the most complex problems.

  • Insights-Driven Strategist. Data and analytics provide the necessary ingredients for actionable insights and you will harness this power to make and measure business decisions for the organization. You will partner and collaborate with the Director of Data and Analytics and internal revenue stakeholders to identify and operationalize these insights.

  • Project Manager. Everything we do touches people, so flawless execution is non-negotiable. Our work can be demanding and it’s important you don’t lose sight of the details. With ruthless prioritization, we focus on getting things done timely and efficient. You are an expert at managing projects, keeping the project on time and within scope and budget.

  • Natural Collaborator. Success in this role will require tons of collaboration with internal and external stakeholders. Exploring, identifying and evaluating opportunities will be at the core of the position and will require strong relationships and an understanding of all sports industry functions.

THE FINE PRINT:

  • 3 years of financial modeling experience required.
  • College degree or MBA is preferred.
