Minerva Analytics is seeking a proven Sr. Software Engineer with a strong technical and collaborative background to join our team. Using our extensive data warehouse, the Minerva team is building communities of users on the internet through a combination of rapid-development web property tools, scalable user acquisition, and extensive competitive and performance analysis. At our core we are a media company that consists of email deliverability expertise, expansive user data, and our unique brand creation process.

Core Mission:
As our Sr. Software Engineer, you’ll be responsible for building and scaling our current internal tools and external media brands.

About the Role:
This is a fast-paced and data-driven role that involves technical skills, strategic thinking and team collaboration. Minerva is looking to enter about 20 more markets with our creation engine over the next 2 years, and you’ll be directly responsible for the team hitting intermittent targets and goals within that mission. You’ll be responsible for building critical tools and services to help us get there.

Responsibilities:

• Delivering high-quality solutions and ensuring that best practices and sound engineering principles are applied in all phases of the software development life cycle
• Providing technical and architectural mentorship to more junior team members
• Assisting leadership in defining and planning the technical roadmap
• Collaborate with design and product on any features improvements or larger scale project deployments
• Work with analytics team to ensure email deliverability is optimal and debugging issues with as needed
• Scale and improve performance on our proprietary send pipeline, responsible for sending upwards of 3million emails per day

Competencies:

• 5 years of Python development experience on backend web applications
• Understand how to build high-throughput, re-useable APIs
• Experience with Devops and Cloud Infrastructure
• Able to understand multiple use cases and design systems around them
• Able to research and propose new technologies or software patterns to make improvements
• A strong communicator, capable of collaborating cross-functionally with technical and non-technical teams
