Our consumers work with physical, occupational, cognitive, behavioral, and speech therapists as well as Transitional Living Services staff who help consumers learn independent living skills so they can live, work and play in the community.

Basic Function

As the Regional Rehabilitation Director you are responsible for planning, organizing, directing, and evaluating the comprehensive therapy services provided by Minds Matter, LLC to consumers in Wichita and surrounding areas. Provide leadership, training and mentoring to Cognitive Therapists, Behavioral Therapists and Transitional Living Specialists (TLS). This position ensures overall quality of rehabilitation services and customer satisfaction to our customer base. 

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Responsible for learning and implementing all aspects of Minds Matter philosophical principles in all aspects of service delivery.
  • Be a model of advocacy. Show consumers how to advocate for themselves as well as develop staff to teach advocacy. 
  • Review services available with individuals based on their funding, as well as management of starting and ending applicable services.
  • Provide support and assistance to consumers in challenging situations to ensure that necessary supports and services are in place and that health and safety needs are met.
  • Provide support, assistance and monitoring to team members to ensure company expectations are being carried out, teams are communicating effectively, and all members understand responsibilities.
  • Provide direct Cognitive Therapy and/or Behavioral Therapy to consumer(s) utilizing functional research-based strategies that enhance the consumer’s ability to live as independently as possible in the community, as needed.
  • Maintain, develop, coordinate, and share community resources and make referrals to other agencies and services, as needed.
  • Obtain information from consumers, families and other team members to assist as they direct and manage the therapy teams and their cohesiveness.
  • Communicate forecasts for services and related hiring needs to colleagues.
  • Share reports on specific outcomes monthly and as needed. 
  • Provide constructive feedback to all therapists regarding philosophical principles of the company, as well as direct therapists on company-wide processes and procedures. 
  • Provide direction to therapy teams including but not limited to the following:
    • oversight and feedback on documentation (as needed), 
    • consumer and family satisfaction, 
    • leadership abilities within team, 
    • goal development and tracking, 
    • and ability to work with other professionals.
  • Review and sign off on all documentation completed by Transitional Living Specialists.
  • Oversee process of interviewing, hiring, training, monitoring performance, and terminating Cognitive Therapists, Behavioral Therapists, and Transitional Living Specialists.
  • Prepare and review annual performance evaluations of Cognitive Therapists, Behavioral Therapists, and Transitional Living Specialists.
  • Ensure that newly hired Cognitive Therapists, Behavioral Therapists, and Transitional Living Specialists are completing their training checklist in a timely manner. 
  • Assign Team Leads to consumers and confirm they are working within the expectations of their role.
  • Attend team meetings to monitor quality assurance of all services.
  • Conduct interim quality assurance check-ins with consumers outside of team meetings.
  • Interpret and explain various Brain Injury Waiver therapy types to stakeholders.
  • Coordinate and attend regional meeting and follow-up with staff.
  • Establish and maintain a professional rapport with all consumers, co-workers, referral agents and representatives of other community agencies and services
  • Promote public relations throughout the agency and community for program development.
  • Demonstrate willingness to serve on agency and interagency task groups as requested.
  • Report suspected abuse, neglect or exploitation to Adult or Child Protective Services. Work with team members to ensure internal incident reports are completed.
  • Adhere to responsibilities and expectations outlined in Minds Matter 101.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the President.
  • Perform other activities as it relates to supporting consumers to live, work and play in their communities.

Qualifications

  • Highly effective in organization, multi-tasking, communication, interpersonal skills, problem-solving skills
  • Minimum of 2 years experience working with people with brain injuries
  • Minimum of 2 years administrative or management experience
  • Bachelor's degree required or master’s degree preferred in a behavioral sciences field
  • Experience in supervision of multiple remote staff highly preferred
  • Demonstrated skills in effective one on one and group communications

Supervision

Latitude is given to determine approaches, procedures and methodologies for accomplishing regional objectives. Work is reviewed based upon specific duties, timelines and quality of work. Supervised by Vice President of Services.
