Your Role on Our Team The DevOps Engineer is responsible for ensuring the safe, predictable, and repeatable delivery of new features and functionality to our customers through highly automated software delivery pipelines. The DevOps Engineer will concentrate efforts on automating and orchestrating software changes and infrastructure changes through pre-production, production and post-production environments, and working collaboratively with a broad landscape of teams and individuals across all of IT. You’ll be DISRUPTIVE through these duties and responsibilities · Work as a highly collaborative member of the release management team · Collaborate with other systems analysts, software engineers, and test engineers to design, implement, and maintain release management systems, solutions, and processes · Collaborate with software developers, security engineers, and infrastructure engineers to implement advanced continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines · Work closely with engineers, analysts, and administrators to continuously identify opportunities to improve the platform and gain efficiencies in existing systems and processes · Understand the needs of stakeholders from infrastructure, operations, and security and be able to effectively convey them to developers and engineers in a collaborative manner · Actively participate in project planning efforts for the development, infrastructure, operations, and security teams · Identify and influence opportunities for continuous improvement · Serve as a mentor to less experienced team members and software developers on industry standards, best practices, and new technologies in the areas of automation, CI/CD, and DevOps The TOOLS you’ll bring with you · Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Systems Analyst or Administrator. A combination of these is preferred. · Must have an advanced understanding of CI/CD · Must have an advanced understanding of DevOps and Agile software development concepts and processes · Must have experience with Agile software development methodologies · Must have a good grasp of software environments and high-level infrastructure / datacenter concepts · Experience working in cloud environments · Experience with cloud migrations, including cloud migration strategies and requirements · Must have experience using PowerShell for CI/CD automation, including test automation and security scanning · Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and Software-Defined Networking (SDN) · Must have experience with Git, including branching and merging activities · Experience working from a team backlog · Experience working with Change Management, including change requests and Change Approval Boards (CAB) · Must have hands-on experience using and administrating Azure DevOps (preferred) or other similar tools, such as Jenkins, Bamboo, TeamCity, etc. Other TOOLS we prefer you have · Bachelor’s degree in computer science or software development, or equivalent work experience · 5-10 years of experience in enterprise level IT projects as a software developer, release engineer, or DevOps engineer (some of that experience should be at a senior-engineer level) · Experience with scripting in a language such as Power-shell, Python, JavaScript, or Ruby · Experience designing solutions that can adapt and scale to dynamic business and industry requirements · Have an "Automate Everything" mindset to support scalable growth · Experience with SQL, Oracle, and AX · Ability to prioritize and provide strategic input · Experience with issues facing large scale server environments Interpersonal Skills · You must be a team player · You must be polite and tactful at all times, even in stressful situations · Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication, and organizational skills · Facts and data oriented. · Strong persuasion, facilitation, and influencing skills. · Strong ability to work with cross functional teams including senior and principal-level individuals. · Must be able to thrive in a fast-paced, rapidly evolving environment Milwaukee Tool, founded in 1924, is a global leader in delivering innovative solutions to the professional construction trades that increase productivity and safety.
