Miller Creative, Inc. is Hiring a People Operations Coordinator Near Chicago, IL

Miller Creative is a team of passionate creators who design, write, and animate cool stuff. We use video, immersive XR technology, and instructor/web-based technologies to transform our clients’ communication and learning. Through storytelling, we create interactive solutions that help our customers effectively engage audiences, train employees, and market their services.

We are seeking a full-time People Operations Coordinator to help us keep up with the tremendous growth we’ve seen as a company. This person will be at the center of it all, with a primary workload of human resources tasks, as well as some financial and administrative support functions. Presently Miller Creative has approximately 20 staff, as well as a number of independent contractors.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage company recruiting: post open positions to BambooHR and to external boards, screen materials along with hiring managers, conduct phone interviews, arrange video or in-person interviews, conduct reference checks as needed
  • Process all new hire paperwork, including background checks
  • Process new hire benefit paperwork as needed, and set up new employees for payroll and within the HRIS
  • Process benefits enrollment and termination
  • Process I9 verifications, and verify vaccination status
  • Process independent contractor hires and related paperwork, including invoice payment
  • Ensure all related HR paperwork is filed appropriately
  • Support the processing of annual employee verifications
  • Support the processing of compensation changes, as needed
  • Ensure the personnel manual and other administrative, HR, or operational documents are kept up to date
  • Process employee resignations or terminations as needed
  • Facilitate annual benefits open enrollment, and benefits education
  • Support the scheduling of company and social outings
  • Schedule organizational professional development when appropriate
  • Assist with various company registrations and general administrative filings
  • Process bill pay for Miller Creative as needed
  • Manage administrative tasks pertaining to facilities, if support is needed
  • Other related human resources, operational, financial, or facility-related duties as assigned

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably with a focus in human resources management or business administration
  • PHRa, PHR, or SHRM-CP certification preferred
  • 2 years of experience in human resources management required
  • Experience supporting administrative, general office, and/or financial tasks preferred
