**Description**

**We are seeking a Home Loans Sales Assistant for the Home Loan Processing Department.**

The Home Loans Sales Assistant will be responsible for establishing an exceptional member experience through their knowledge of our home loan products and other offerings as well as basic underwriting expectations and items that may be required for loan approval. As part of their duties the Home Loans Sales Assistants will also be responsible for providing pre-qualification letters to members or potential borrowers who are shopping for a new home. They will manage these leads until the member has given us a complete application at which time it would be referred to the Home Loan Originators. The role is expected to demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills and develop solid inter-departmental relationships. The Home Loans Sales Assistants should also identify key stakeholders and develop strong and productive cross-functional relationships throughout the Credit Union. The Home Loans Sales Assistants should have a solid mortgage origination background and is expected to exhibit the ability to solve problems as they develop. The role requires understanding and continued education of all internal and external policies and procedures, federal and state laws, and insurer requirements. The role requires competence and continued education of technical systems used to perform the duties of the position.

**Highlights:**

* Serve as stakeholders initial contact and provide exceptional member experience by using active listening skills and needs assessment

* Exhibit solid customer service skills by responding to and resolving issues efficiently

* Provide thorough and complete communication on each transaction and to all stakeholders

* Maintain pipeline of leads and pre-approvals by providing regular follow up with members and potential borrowers until enough data is gathered for a complete application

* Develop and sustain trusting relationships with stakeholders

* Perform audits to verify compliance by ensuring accuracy, completeness and compliance with internal and external regulation and guidelines

**Experience:**

Required

* 1 year of experience in sales and/or processing (residential loan lending)

* 1 year of experience in Sales Assistant role

* General knowledge of mortgages

Preferred

* Working knowledge of Encompass

**Education:**

Required

* High School diploma or equivalent

Preferred

* College degree

* Excellent verbal and written communication skills

* Supportive of Credit Human and management

* Be an advocate, by sharing ideas and providing suggestions for process improvement or improved member experience. Also recommend changes to support organizational effectiveness

* Develop and sustain trusting relationships with stakeholders

* Maintain knowledge and comply with regulations, policies, procedures, practices and guidelines

* Maintain manuals, training materials and tools that support regulatory knowledge and awareness

* Giving best advice and keeping the Home Loans Management informed on divisional matters, trends and risks

* Meet defined deadlines and performance measures

* Adding new skills and capabilities relevant to both his/her personal growth needs and the organizations future needed capabilities

* Collaborate with department members to achieve defined goals and quality standards

* Collaborate and participate in department and cross divisional team meetings and feedback sessions to promote continuous learning and development
