Milhouse Engineering & Construction is Hiring a Site Supervisor (Seasonal) Near Chicago, IL

We are seeking a Site Supervisor to join our Snow & Grounds Management team for this Snow Season!

The role of Site Supervisor (SS), is to provide oversite and supervision over the routes and the crews assigned to the Snow and Ice Management. The Site Supervisor supports training of field team members, time sheet submission, recruiting, recommendations for promotions, terminations as well as assigning work, ensures proper use of Sitefoto and location photography, daily reporting documentation, enforces safety practices, and proper reporting of damage claims and company disciplinary policy. This role will receive and interpret orders from the Assistant Project Manager. They will meet with APM’s to ensure priority determination and time management while working on projects. They will have a clear understanding of project objective, short and long-term goals and objectives.

What you will do:

  • Supervises snow and ice management crews on their specified routes.
  • Ensures Milhouse rules, guidelines and specifications are followed.
  • Coordinates with Assistant Project Manager.
  • Pre-inspect projects and develop recommended management plans, matching labor and equipment resources to work and cost estimates.
  • Maintain accurate project circuit maps noting project status, crew locations and estimated completion dates.
  • Inspect crews, start/stop times and identification of project locations.
  • Audit time sheets for accuracy.
  • Assist with customer notifications and customer complaints.
  • Preview work assignments and conduct post work critiques for their respective routes.
  • Maintain an adequate inventory of tools and supplies to sufficiently support the compliment of assigned crews.
  • Work schedules are seasonal. Alerts crew members of their work schedules within 24 hours of event
  • Performs other duties as required.
What we are looking for:
  • Must have the ability to evaluate site conditions and time required to complete required clearances.
  • Advantageous is your bilingual skills in English and Spanish
  • Must have computer knowledge (MS Word, Excel)
  • Must be able to communicate with various levels of field and management personnel and write reports.
  • Due to the inherently dangerous nature of the industry and the requirements to work with or around hazardous equipment, employees must be able to maintain attention and concentration for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to wear necessary PPE as necessary.
  • Must be able to safely drive an approved company vehicle.
  • Must be able to enter and exit a vehicle numerous times a day.
  • Must be able to traverse various terrains.
  • Must be able to write, read and comprehend written and verbal job instructions/information.
  • Must be able to communicate and handle confrontations professionally.
  • Must be able to work long hours and overtime during emergencies (including holidays, weekends, etc. Subject to call out work).
  • Must be willing to travel out of state for emergency storm work.
  • Must be able to pass a background check and Motor Vehicle Records Check (MVR).
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50lb
Your background:
  • Must have Heavy Equipment experience
  • Must have field experience in Snow and Ice management.
Working Conditions:
  • Must be able to withstand exposure to extreme weather conditions while completing work assignments, i.e., snow, sleet, rain, heat, sun, cold.
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods of time.
  • Work demands physical energy, twisting, some lifting ability, and hand-to-eye coordination.
  • Uses machines, tools, equipment, and work aides used include, snow blower, plow trucks, calcium-chloride chemicals, and hand tools as required.
  • Must have transportation to and from the show up location
