Description

Summary:

Under general supervision, while conforming to established compliance policies and procedures, is responsible for providing high quality customer service in the following activities: demand deposit, savings and loan transactions, check cashing, ATM servicing, balancing and selling monetary instruments. Assists customers with Electronic Banking and Mobile Banking issues. Cross-sells bank services and makes product referrals as part of the Retail Incentive Program and utilization of the Marquis CRM System. Will attend training sessions and participate in training exercises for the Retail Incentive Program. Receives training on various banking topics via the BAI on-line training system. Balances each day’s transactions and verifies cash totals. Assists other tellers with balancing, resolving problem situations as required. Opens new deposit accounts of all types including Safe Deposit. Takes travel club reservations, prepares correspondence and does retail account file maintenance. Will be cross-trained to perform other job functions as needed. Will perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Position Expectations

  • A high level of interpersonal skills necessary to represent the bank in a positive fashion when dealing with customer/teller transactions. Exhibits a constant effort to serve our customer’s needs accurately and efficiently.
  • A thorough knowledge of Microsoft Windows computer programs and the analytical ability to resolve balancing discrepancies.
  • A thorough knowledge of bank products and services; including features, benefits and service fee schedules. The ability to cross-sell bank products and services.
  • Must be willing to participate in community events and join organizations.
  • Mental and physical requirements of the job are as follows:
  • Must be able to stand for approximately 7 to 8 hours per day
  • Must possess the ability to handle stressful situations and treat customers with a professional and courteous manner.
  • The ability to lift boxes, cartons, and bags of loose coin used in the teller area (up to 20 lbs).
  • The physical ability to communicate by telephone and via drive-in speakers
  • Perform other related duties as required or assigned that are in the spirit of this job description and position as necessary for the Bank and the Department to function effectively

Required Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or G.E.D.
  • Minimum of two years retail banking experience
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft office and automated underwriting systems
  • Excellent decision-making and communication skills
  • Must have valid drivers’ license and access to a vehicle. Must be willing to travel to another branch if necessary.

Preferred Experience

  • At least 2 years of sales or customer service experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or a related field
  • Strong communication skills including written and verbal
  • Ability to prepare documents and compose business letters, and policies and procedures
