JOB DESCRIPTION
OUTREACH MINISTRY ASSISTANT
JOB TITLE: Outreach Ministry Assistant
REPORTS TO: Local Outreach Pastor
HOURS/WEEK: Part-time – up to 30 hours/week
FSLA DESIGNATION: Non-exempt
STAFF CATEGORY: Support Staff

SUMMARY OF POSITION: The person called to this position ensures that the mission, vision and values of Illuminate are carried out by assisting the Outreach Team in all matters of administration, communication, coordination and event planning, and for such other duties and responsibilities as agreed upon.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to -
- Oversee the communication between the Outreach team and the community partners. This will include emails, texts and other weekly communication that occurs from our team to our partners.
- Provide volunteer coordination for any events at campus or off campus for the outreach team.
- Pick up and drop off materials, food, materials, supplies for all outreach events on and off campus.
- Coordinate any changes and/or updates that need to be done to the website
- Assist in managing and leading large-scale outreach events done by the church such as Treat Street, Serve Month (2 per year)
- Attend any local outreach team meetings
- Fully participate in any and all future thinking for outreach ministries such as brainstorming, strategic planning, and budget
- Ensure the Pastors on the team are prepared for upcoming appointments by gathering materials necessary for each meeting
- Be willing to drive a truck and trailer to events and for regular maintenance.
- Perform such other responsibilities as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Strong work ethic; excellent communication skills; Team player; ability to learn fast and execute quickly.
- Excellent organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and as a team to meet deadlines
- Ability to multi-task efficiently
- Highly functional both behind the scenes and in front
- Computer literacy with knowledge of MS Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, OneDrive, etc.)
- Must be willing to think outside the box, be creative and bring others into those places.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills

- Highly functional both behind the scenes and out front.
- Demonstrate a high degree of loyalty and the capability of protecting the confidentiality of sensitive matters related to the church.

- Have a team-first mentality focused on collaboration and communal betterment.
- Serve as an excellent example of Christian witness to the community within and outside the church.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Constant sitting, standing, moving and viewing of screens. Occasional lifting of 20 pounds or more.
