Overview

Responsible for a variety of functions within the Accounting Department. Primary duties involve processing daily, monthly, and year end Accounts Payable activities for multi-company organization. Performs any function within the scope of authority and expertise, in conformance with Bank policies, procedures, objectives and generally accepted accounting principles.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for daily accounts payable invoice processing and filing, including electronic workflow, in conformance with Bank’s accounts payable policy.

• Responsible for expense reimbursement processing and adherence to Bank’s business expense guidelines.

• Responsible for corporate credit card process, including review of monthly expenditures and adherence to Bank’s business expense guidelines and related reporting.

• Monitor and report on selected Bank expenses to identify spending trends, budget variances and adherence to Bank’s policies and guidelines.

• Ensure standardized compliance with state sales and use tax regulations including more complex use tax rules concerning hardware and software purchases.

• Complete year end processing of 1099 Miscellaneous Reporting. Ensure compliance with all Federal and State reporting requirements.

• Interpret and clearly communicate information, educate others, and make recommendations to effectively impact accounting operations.

• Identify opportunities to apply broad knowledge of the Bank and its operations to improve Department efficiency and profitability for the Bank.

• Performs work independently within scope of established guidelines and practices. Consults with management where clarification or exception to Bank policy may be required.

• Support Bank’s regulatory compliance objectives and recommend changes to support prescribed requirements. Ensure full compliance with the Bank's Information Security Policies and Procedures.

• Represent the Bank through active participation in community and industry organizations and events and promote the business interests of the Bank.

• Refer sales opportunities to other departments or Bank affiliates in support of established objectives.

• Perform other duties as may be required.

Requirements

• Associates degree preferred (relevant studies)
• 3 to 5 years relevant accounts payable experience
• Understanding of accounting principles and related financial statements
• Must possess at least intermediate technology skills including accounting/general ledger systems and MS Office Suite
• Must be detailed oriented with strong organization, analytical and communication skills
• Ability to prioritize and perform multiple tasks while meeting deadlines
