MATERIALS HANDLER

OUR COMPANY
At MicroGEM, we are simplifying complex molecular techniques, moving them out of highly skilled labs to non-laboratory settings where they can be used at the point-of-need to solve biological problems. This is democratizing molecular biology.

TYPE: Full Time

LOCATION: Ogden, Utah

THIS ROLE WILL REPORT TO: Materials Manager

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Observe all safety and environmental procedures and Quality System Requirements (QSR).
  • Maintain production order integrity for all materials received, transferred, and returned using IQMS ERP system
  • Maintain cleanliness of work area including removal of empty containers and utilizing/operating trash compactor
  • Inspect all materials delivered for correct quantity item and condition prior to acceptance
  • Performs cycle counts and physical inventories using IQMS
  • Store incoming materials and WIP materials neatly in designated areas
  • Move finished goods into packaging area from production area, prepares pallets by strapping and installing corner posts.
  • Handle product appropriately and enter information electronically into applicable system following good documentation practices (GDP)
  • Supports other operations within the department.
  • All other duties as assigned.


PREFERRED EXPERIENCE/SKILLSETS:

  • High school education or equivalency preferred
  • Basic warehouse and/or Distribution Center knowledge recommended; demonstrated success working in a production environment is helpful
  • Ability to lift more than 30 pounds without assistance
  • Prior use of manual and/or powered industrial equipment preferred
  • Ability to work independently and/or as part of a team
  • Able to stand or walk for extended periods of time
  • Able to climb, bend, reach, stoop, kneel, and stretch for extended periods of time
  • Willing and able to work at heights, using ladders or lifts
  • Basic computer skills required
