Join our community of exceptional people doing incredible things. Job Description: We are looking for a Wafer Fab Engineering Manager who enjoys working within a team environment. In this role, you will support the wafer fab engineering activities. The engineering manager will be responsible for process and yield improvements. Additionally, responsible for working proactively with customers (internal / external) on returns and quality issues. The candidate we seek will have the technical knowledge and Leadership capability to drive complex decisions in semiconductor wafer process technologies to provide a competitive advantage to Microchip. Responsibilities Oversee and manage a team of experienced wafer fab engineers, provide guidance and priorities to the engineers as needed. Create and update documentation describing product manufacture or equipment operation. Implement and monitor SPC to ensure process control. Experience with Design of Experiments. Communicate and consult with team members and other staff, as necessary, to successfully complete tasks. Recommend and implement equipment and process modifications to improve production efficiencies, manufacturing techniques and production yields for existing products. Make budgetary recommendations and manage capital expenditures and labor. Participate in and support weekly, monthly, and quarterly performance reporting, as required. Mentor and assist in the professional development of junior staff members. Establish operational objectives and work plans, and delegate assignments to subordinates. Develop staff to ensure backup coverage is available (i.e. cross-training), including when manager is unavailable Regularly interact with peers, senior management or executives on matters concerning several functional areas, divisions, and/or customers. Review goals, objectives, budget and quality standards with senior manager. Develop goals and objectives for team, monitor goals and objectives throughout the year, and meet with team members one-on-one to review performance. Other design, development, and support tasks as assigned. Requirements/Qualifications: B.S. in Chemical, Electrical or other related engineering discipline. 7 years of engineering experience working in a wafer fab environment with silicon semiconductor products. 3 years of engineering management experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably a fab environment. Ability to think out-of-the-box and create unique solutions to problems. Experience, coursework, or knowledge of best-practice engineering principles. Familiarity with statistical methods such as: Design of Experiments, Statistical Process Control and Gage R&R. Strong Microsoft Office skills with high proficiency in Excel. Must be well organized with the ability to present information for suggested process improvements to the Wafer Fabrication engineering team. Ability to multitask and work on a diverse set of problems simultaneously while being on a steep learning curve. Must be able to work and plan independently to achieve targeted goals. Excellent (English) communication (verbal and written) and listening skills. Ability to problem-solve and collaborate with employees and management. Preferred Qualifications Experience with Discrete Semiconductor products.
