JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
The Case Manager I (CMI) reports to the Broward Programs Supervisor and provides case management services focused on assisting residents obtain housing in a timely manner. The CMI provides outcome reports per program guidelines and requirements. The HCM also works with the case management staff as directed by Supervisor in helping clients obtain housing and services related to housing. Note: All employees must sign a Statement of Faith
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- High School diploma, GED or previous on-the-job training in Social Work is required
- Requires 1 - 2 years of experience in social work or homelessness
- Must be able to exercise independent judgment within the general framework of approved case management techniques, existing laws, and within company guidelines
- Must possess knowledge of local agencies, programs and resources in the community that will assist residents with obtaining housing in a timely manner
- Must be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients and community partners of diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds regardless of race, religion, age, sex, disability, political affiliation, and sexual orientation
- Must be organized and computer literate
- Must be proficient in MS Word and MS Outlook.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Must be able to sit for extended periods, and have the ability to lift and/or carry objects weighing up to 25 pounds
- Must be able to see, hear and speak, in order to interact with staff and the general public
- Must be able to move around as needed to perform essential job duties
