Data and Reporting Analyst

General Purpose:

The Analyst, Data and Reporting is responsible for creating reports, dashboards, analyses etc. to provide business insights and drive decision-making. This position will also play an integral role in maintaining MGMA’s internal data integrity and cleanliness, which will enable more accurate and insightful reporting.

Essential Functions:

  • Develops internal business intelligence reporting across the organization utilizing customer, sales, accounting, and various other data sources.
  • Works with functional business leads to identify gaps or issues in reporting; implements fixes or new reports accordingly.
  • Develops PowerBI and SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) reporting within CRM to provide real-time data for the business.
  • Works closely with database administrators and developers to understand data structure and implications on reporting.
  • Leads and supports initiatives that drive data integrity and improved data completeness; creates and implements data management policies accordingly.
  • Develops technical documentation to support reporting initiatives and training across the organization.
  • Creates and maintains documentation of data, requirements, and business rules used within MGMA reports.
  • Assists in projects that streamline and standardize data collection and creation.
  • Assists in deployment of data to the data warehouse.
  • Develops policies and procedures for the collection and analysis of data.
  • Implements new data analysis methodologies and maintains best practices.
  • Performs data profiling to identify and understand anomalies.
  • Other duties as required and necessary to ensure the success of the organization.

Data and Reporting Analyst


Knowledge, skills and abilities:

  • Ability to consistently promote, support, work, and act in a manner in support of MGMA’s mission, vision, and values.
  • Additional Microsoft stack applications (PowerBI, PowerApps, Microsoft Flow) knowledge a plus.
  • Understanding of relational databases.
  • Strong Excel and SQL experience and skillset.
  • Working knowledge of Dynamics 365.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, as well as able to communicate quantitative information in a clear and informative manner.
  • Attention to detail and possess the ability to work on multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • Strong operational background, excellent customer support and project management skills, and proven ability to contribute to a team.
  • Strong experience with using standard and agile life-cycle methodologies.
  • Ability to work with a dynamic staff and work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience in data management and reporting.
  • Ability to think analytically and evaluate user needs to create the highest quality solutions and resources.
  • Commitment to top quality completion of tasks in a team and independent environment.
  • Excellent problem solving and decision-making skills.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field required.

Experience:

  • Two (2) or more years of experience developing and/or using business intelligence reports, preferably using SSRS and PowerBI is required.
  • Two (2) or more years of experience in Dynamics 365/CRM and/or analytical role required.
  • One (1) or more years of experience with additional Microsoft software (PowerBI, PowerApps, Microsoft Flow) is preferred.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted on a year for year basis.

Additional Requirements/Licenses/Certifications:

  • Must have reliable transportation.
