MG Properties is Hiring a HR Generalist Near San Diego, CA

Overview

The Human Resources Generalist will be responsible for completing a variety of tasks to support the daily operations of human resources duties in and assigned regions/ states. The right candidate has experience in a broad range of HR areas such as recruitment, leave of absence management, workers compensation, employee relations, and benefits.

Responsibilities

  • Manage full cycle high volume recruitment for assigned regions. Ensure timely and accurate opening of position requisitions, job postings, review of candidate qualifications, and forward qualified candidates to appropriate managers for review. Conduct phone or face-to-face interviews, and plan and coordinate job fairs as needed.
  • Administer workers’ compensation claims and follow up for assigned regions.
  • Manage leaves of absence, e.g., FMLA, CFRA, PDL, PFL, disability and others.
  • Respond to employee and manager inquiries as needed
  • Manage employee relations and work-related conflicts through advice, recommendations, and coaching. Implement disciplinary action and documentation as needed.
  • Investigate employee relations issues and, according to circumstances, provide guidance and recommendations for problem resolution in accordance with applicable law.
  • Maintain employee files assuring accuracy, compliance, and confidentiality.
  • Compose custom reports on a variety of topics related to human capital management and workforce planning
  • Provide 401k benefit information.
  • Identify regional turnover trends and communicate trends to VP of HR and Regional Managers
  • Conduct EXIT / Stay interviews
  • Regional and organizational projects as assigned

Qualifications

  • 2 -5 years’ experience Human Resources experience.
  • Strong understanding of HR laws governing hiring, termination, workers compensation, and leaves of absence.
  • High proficiency in MS Excel, Word, and Power Point.
  • Demonstrated experience with databases.
  • Bilingual English / Spanish highly desirable. 
  • ADP Workforce now experience highly preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Demonstrated proficiency for efficiently managing multiple tasks and projects.
  • Ability to exercise good judgment in the application of state and federal labor laws.
  • Exceptional ability to handle employee and company information in a confidential manner.
  • Highly effective interpersonal skills.
  • High reasoning ability. Able to apply principles of logical thinking to define problems, collect pertinent data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Excellent organizing and prioritizing skills.
  • Able to work with and effectively convey ideas to a diverse employee population.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Talent for maintaining composure in difficult situations.
