*Business Development Representative Job Description* *Oversee, manage and execute Machine Shop Aerospace component manufacturer request for quote processes (RFQ) for creating quotes for customers in a timely and efficient manner with the highest quality.* Act as Business Development representative responsible for advising the chief operating officer (COO) and a machine shop team on the operation of CNC (3 & 5 axis), EDM, lathe and manual machines to create products for commercial, military and aerospace customers. Assist with the management of the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP – Job Boss) system into business processes. Act a primary liaison between supply chain and manufacturing divisions on contracts that can be executed on-site with corporate business processes, machines and personnel. Create and sustain new and existing business development efforts with new and existing customers. Review and translate engineering drawings to assist personnel in the manufacture of machine products. Advise on techniques and processes to ensure components are correctly and completely machined in accordance with engineering BOM, machine detail drawing requirements, and quality plans. Review and assist in the adjustment of work procedures to meet production schedules and optimize workflow, set daily priorities, and help maintain productivity within the machine shop. Planning and scheduling jobs in the shop to meet critical production shipping dates. Assist in execution and training of enhanced skills and competencies to perform precision machining. Provide leadership for safety, loss prevention and cost reduction activities. Assist in the troubleshooting and repair of machinery, the purchase repair parts, schedule of repairs and maintenance of machines as needed. Assist the purchasing department in the acquisition of raw material and supporting items as needed. _*MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:*_ * Experience with CNC machining and metal shop fabrication equipment, as well as the ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings and specifications to improve operations. * Education and/or Experience: High School or GED required. College or professional certification desired. * Experience with (GDT) Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing. * Manufacturing engineering related experience a plus; or a level of education that, together with experience and training, enables the applicant to demonstrate the required knowledge and experience. * Aerospace manufacturing working environment. * Formal business training or education, a plus. _*KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:*_ * Thorough knowledge of a machine shop and manufacturing processes * Understanding the machining properties of various materials and determining the proper tooling, setup and operations to make a completed part * Reading, interpreting and working from engineering drawings and work order instructions. * Proficient in the use of measuring equipment and gages and vision system inspection equipment. * Verbal, written and listening communication skills. * Strong math skills (e.g. shop math, basic algebra, geometry and trigonometry). * Measure dimensional tolerances using applicable equipment to read precision instruments and see and feel product defects. * Ability to read CMM reports and make adequate adjustment/offsets to get product back to nominal. * Understand, value and actively drive process optimization and variation reduction. * Takes a leadership role in a team atmosphere, possessing flexibility and adaptability to respond to changing priorities and be able to provide and accept constructive criticism. * Proficient with the use of CAD/CAM software.
