MetTel is Hiring a Linux Administrator Near New York, NY
- Advanced expertise in Linux operating systems, specifically experience with RedHat Enterprise.
- Strong experience in GIT and Ansible Automation Platform.
- Strong experience in scripting like shell, PERL and Python.
- Perform OS upgrades and patch installations.
- Familiarity with traditional Enterprise infrastructure, virtualization hypervisors (eg. VMware), and working knowledge/experience with Cloud architectures – Public (AWS, Azure) and Private Cloud solutions.
- Support Backup, Recovery, Performance and Tuning of RHEL systems.
- Willing to learn new tools and technology.
- Ability to plan and prioritize work and meet project deadlines.
- Must be self-motivated and work well with other groups.
- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills (oral and written), interpersonal, and organizational skills are required.
- A background in infrastructure management and design, with proven experience of best of breed solutions for security, scalability and cost management.
- Implement and deliver key projects and customer hybrid cloud solutions.
Additional skills/experience that will reflect favorably
- An automation mindset, wherever possible you should look to use scripting and automation
- Experience working with large storage systems and cluster management systems
- An engineering instinct with an ability to think laterally to solve technical problems
- A deep understanding of system monitoring, automation and configuration management tools such as (Ansible, Nagios, Foreman, ELK stack)
