Medical Assistant/Scribe

Metro Vein Centers is a fast-growing medical organization that is looking for a new team member for our Dearborn and Ann Arbor locations. This individual will be required to work in both offices on designated days of the week.

The Medical Assistant/Scribe staff shares our commitment to delivering the highest quality of patient care with exceptional customer service. Medical Assistants/Scribes serve as an extension of the Metro Vein Centers medical team to provide support to patients and other medical staff. This position heavily contributes to success by helping maintain office workflow, inventory, and improve health care delivery. The Medical Assistant/Scribe supports the team to excellent performance, productivity, and customer service.

What You Will Do:

• Assist with patient intake and taking of vital signs
• Assist physicians before, during, and after medical procedures
• Collaborate with physicians, to provide follow-up support for patients post-operatively
• Accompany the physician upon patient interview and examination
• Document the physician dictated patient history, present illness, review of systems, past medical and surgical history, family and social histories, medications and allergies
• Document physical examination findings and procedures as performed by the physician
• Comfort patients throughout the treatment process by anticipating patients’ anxieties and answering patients’ questions
• Assist with scheduling patient medical appointments and ensuring that the patient receives routine or follow-up care
• Manage inventory stocking, tracking, and ordering of supplies using an inventory management system
• Use Centricity EMR to review patient charts and prepare the clinic's daily operations accordingly
• Taking patient calls
• Scheduling follow up appointments
• Have knowledge of insurance verification and authorizations for multiple private and state insurances
