Role Summary 

The Software Engineer is responsible to design, develop, and maintain the technical systems that deliver MetPro services. You work with a distributed team to produce high-quality work using a variety of technologies (e.g., web, mobile, database) and third-party systems. You have a seasoned balance of resourceful “get ‘er done” problem-solving and enterprise-level best practices.

Responsibilities/Essential Functions

• Develop code and implement solutions that have a high level of quality, meets business specifications, and implements best practices for the technology.

• Design, engineering, and maintain technical solutions using web, mobile, and database technologies (i.e., Ruby on Rails, React / React Native, PostgreSQL, XCode, HTML5, and CSS).

• Maintain infrastructure solutions that use third-party services (e.g., AWS and Twilio).

• Collaborate with engineers and other stakeholders within an agile-like development environment.

• Investigate and resolve defects; defensively create solutions that prevent future defects.

• Provide recommendations for opportunities for improvement and proactively identify and address future potential problems.

• Approach technical solutions from a perspective that is very customer-centric (e.g., user experience, design, features, defects).

• Contribute to a positive and vibrant company culture that is 100% remote.

Requirements:

• A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a hands-on, engineering role in Ruby on Rails, React / React Native

• A minimum of 2 years’ working in a small development team developing mobile apps

• A minimum of 2 years’ in web development (e.g., JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3)

• Experience working with third-party libraries (e.g., Branch IO, Localytics, Twilio)

• Deeply curious and familiar with using data to drive strategic decision-making

• Highly creative, with excellent analytical abilities

• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills

• It’s a plus if you’re not only passionate about web and app development, but also nutrition and fitness!
