MCHS is looking for an experienced leader to manage all financial operations (accounting, budgeting, control, and reporting) for the agency. I. JOB SUMMARY

Under the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) ensures the optimal financial operations and positioning of the organization including planning, budgeting, financial operations and reporting, compliance, accounting and investments, and financial risk management.

II. DUTIES & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Enable the organization to achieve its mission and objectives by directing its budgeting; establishes financial policies and procedures; monitor and analyze operations and results; develop and prepare reports; counsel and direct others, including other departments.
• Ensure the best utilization of the organization’s financial resources; direct financial operations, including billing and receivables, accounts payable, general ledger, cash management, investments, borrowing, and banking.
• Direct all activities of the Finance department; manage the work of the department staff; develop department goals and objectives.
• Oversee the preparation and approval of all financial reporting materials and metrics for MCHS; prepare and communicate monthly and annual financial statements.

III. BASIC COMPETENCIES

Education and Experience:

The CFO will be a seasoned and mature leader with broad finance experience, ideally beginning in audit, followed by experience gathering and evaluating financial information and making actionable recommendations to senior administrative teams. S/he/they will ideally have experience managing all financial (accounting, budgeting, control, and reporting) operations of an organization.

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or related field from an accredited college or university and at least ten (8) years of experience, or
• Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting or related field from an accredited college or university and at least six (4) years of experience.
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred.
• Nonprofit human services experience preferred.
• Must meet the State’s Moral Character standard.
