Duties and Responsibilities

  • Digital Strategy: Help lead digital strategy and engagement for the Poetry Center, including poetry.arizona.edu (including the blog 1508), voca.arizona.edu, and other digital platforms, ensuring broadest reach and engagement. With the Executive Director, forge new strategic partnerships that will help position current and future Poetry Center digital assets for maximum visibility and storytelling reach, creating new focus on Poetry Center's digital spaces.
  • Marketing and Communications: Oversee the Poetry Center's marketing andcommunications efforts, including print and digital calendars, press releases, social media channels, and newsletter platforms.Maintains event listings in community calendars. Respond to media requests, scheduleinterviews, and act as the Poetry Center point of contact formembers of the media.
  • Outreach: Develop relationships internally and externally,with our partners and collaborators across campus, in the local literary andmedia communities, and in the national literary and media communities. Superviseand mentor student workers. Additional duties may be assigned.
  • Event support: This position supports events as necessary,especially in order to document activities for social media and webcontent.

  • Graphic design skills. 
  • Familiarity with contemporary poetry.
