Job Summary:

JobSummary:

Responsible for establishing and buildingtrusting, collaborative relationships with participants and providers toidentify and guide participants to essential educational supports and campus orcommunity resources. Fosters partnerships and interactions focused on stakeholderneeds necessary for workforce readiness and life skills. Assistin coordinating and implementing programming for a sub-cohort team of participantsthrough certified relationship-focused, trauma informed techniques. Assist in coordinating and implementingprogramming as well as helping assist meeting each participant’s needs.

EssentialJob Functions:

  • Responsible for a sub-team of the CFSI cohort which includes conducting regular student 1-on-1s to challenge and support each student, help get them connected to resources, and have coaching conversations regarding program participation and performance.
  • Collaborate with recruitment, admissions, and advising to support students through recruitment and onboarding to on-time completion.
  • Assist with management of internship program, including maintaining employer-partner relationships.
  • Create and distribute marketing/communications to community partners.
  • Coordinate photo documentation of events.
  • Assist students by connecting them with community resources.
  • Coordinate and facilitate interaction with and among student groups, organizations, and community-based volunteer activities.
  • Carry out and document weekly educational and personal check-ins with each assigned student.
  • Helps with scheduling and coordinating training and speakers, prepares speaker bios, gets them set up in the classroom on the morning of their session (microphones, PowerPoints, IT, handouts, etc.).
  • Coordinate and facilitate group activities, field trips, and events.
  • Assist students with the application, enrollment, and onboarding process.
  • Assists Senior Director with student dismissals and corrective action conversations.
  • Manage on-campus room reservation requests and off campus scheduling of activities.
  • Coordinate vehicle reservations as well as other relevant transportation needs.
  • CFSI P-Card Holder responsibilities under the direction of the Senior Director.
  • Complies with all state and university policies.
  • Completes all mandatory training and participates in a minimum of two professional development trainings each year.

Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent with some collegeeducational experience.

WorkExperience:

  • More than one year of experience working with individuals who have experienced who have a history of substance abuse, homelessness, domestic violence, foster care, poverty and/or who have mental health issues.
  • Experience with identifying participant needs that can be met through available academic and student focused university supports.

Certifications&/or Licenses:
Peer Recovery Support Specialist (PRSS) Certificationthrough Oklahoma Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services

Knowledge,Skills, and Abilities:

  • A thorough understanding of how to locate and navigate community resources (food, housing, state benefits, etc.)
  • Ability to manage both large and small projects with exceptional skill.
  • Basic knowledge of and experience working with office technologies including but not limited to: office computers, scanners, internet, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Ability to work autonomously without constant direction or supervision.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively and cohesively with faculty, administrators, students and staff.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and sensitivity to a multicultural/diverse environment in an effort to work and communicate effectively with all students, faculty, staff and community partners.
  • Exceptional problem solving and critical thinking skills required.
  • Demonstrate high levels of Emotional Intelligence.
  • Demonstrate empathy and understanding of diverse perspectives.
  • Demonstrate the ability to communicate diplomatically, clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing to exchange information, give/receive instructions and respond to inquiries.
  • Ability to manage tracking systems as well as collect, organize and report data.
  • Strong attention to detail and organization.
  • Ability to hold participants accountable to the CFSI program handbook in a straightforward, respectful, and compassionate way.
  • Demonstratedassertiveness solving problems and finding solutions for participant needs,both on and off-campus. 

PreferredQualifications:

  • Student experience with OSU- Oklahoma City.
  • Two or more years of experience working with individuals who have a history of substance abuse, homelessness, domestic violence, foster care, poverty and/or who have mental health issues.
  • Two or more years experience acting as PRSS.

WorkingConditions:

  • Work will be performed in an office environment with a significant amount of public contact, in person, by telephone, via email, and various communication platforms.
  • In-state travel to include exposure to outside conditions as relates to program cultural events and activities. Occasional overnight stay may be required.
  • Occasional out-of-state travel for trainings.
  • Occasional evening and/or weekend hours may be required.

Physical Requirements:

  • Duties require extended periods of sitting, talking and listening.
  • Duties require extensive use of computers, telephone and other office equipment.
  • Requires possible lifting of up to 25 lbs (if an object weighs more than 45 pounds, OSU-Oklahoma City requires this to be a two person lift.)
