We are a small private practice in Rio Rancho New Mexico. We offer health care services to all age ranges. We offer other services as well as in house phlebotomy and a range of other services including BioTe Hormone replacement therapy, Myers Cocktails and Vitamin Injections.

Overview/Job Purpose

The Medical Assistant is responsible for Prior authorizations, FMLA paperwork, vaccine for children program and other clerical duties as assigned, as well as back up for room patients as needed. Must have working knowledge of these programs,

Responsibilities:

• Prior authorizations (mostly done through electronic portals)
• Completion of FMLA paperwork for patients by deadlines
• Ensuring compliance with Vaccine for children program
• Calling patients with lab results
• Completing referrals for patients

As needed will be asked to help with standard patient flow including:

• Ensures efficient patient flow by rooming patients in a timely manner and assisting the provider with staying timely on their schedule.
• Delivers an exceptional patient experience, and helps patients prepare for their provider visit.
• Obtains vital signs, chief complaints, and reviews medications.
• Delivers patient screenings per protocol.
• Ensure exam rooms are clean, safe, and ready for patient visits.
• Under the direction of the Provider, offer MA “visits” including administering vaccinations, performing procedures including but not limited to: spirometry, EKGs, etc.
• Perform CLIA waived laboratory testing.

Education Requirements:

High School Diploma Required

Phlebotomist certificate preferred.

Experience Requirements:

1-2 years of experience in a physician office or medical group setting preferred

CPR certification
