The Houston office is looking for a dynamic and motivated individual to join our team as the front desk Receptionist. In this role, you will have the opportunity to proudly represent the Meriplex brand while providing exceptional customer service to our clients and guests. We view this role as part of the Office Services team and reports up to Human Resources. Meriplex cultivates a collaborative culture, and as the Receptionist, you will have the chance to work across multiple departments of the organization to improve the customer experience. This role will have the opportunity to engage in short and long term – office administrative projects: seniority recognition, basic employment data maintenance and other functions as necessary.

Due to the nature of this role, it is not remote and will work out of the office each day. This role is open to a part-time schedule as long as the majority of the hours worked are between 8:30AM and 3:30PM – Monday through Friday. This role will report directly to the Manager, Office Services.

  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment to meet deadlines. There is always plenty to do, so we like self-starters. Your days will be varied and sometimes widely different – candidates who are comfortable with flexibility will accel here.
  • Maintain an organized and neat workspace and workplace. We are back to picking up steam with office visitors and events. Part of this role will be to partner with the procurement team to ensure the Houston office is fully stocked and organized for internal or external visitors.
  • Primarily support the Human Resources team and general office duties. This role can be for someone wanting to get their administrative chops or someone looking to enter the Office Support field. If you are interested in raising your hand for exposure to projects this is definitely a place for you.
  • Confidently and professionally handle inbound calls and other means of communication. We are a growing company, with various locations, and a telecommunications company after all. Candidates should be comfortable with calls, chats, and in person communications.
  • Arrange catering for client meetings, assist with special events, and maintain conference rooms. Leverage your coordinating skills here! You are the person that is in the know of all things happening within the Houston office.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to our guests. Nobody likes being left in the dark. Promptly announce their arrival to the appropriate personnel.
  • Strong interpersonal, oral, visual, and written communication skills. This will pay off in our highly collaborative culture.

Let’s work together to succeed together! We think at least 2 years of experience in the following areas will serve you greatly in this role:

  • Office 365 – Teams, OneDrive, Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.
  • Experience in a high traffic environment – general reception, customer service position, cashier or other transactional experiences.

Work Schedule/Travel - Standard Meriplex business hours are 8am - 5pm, however, there is flexibility to what this work schedule could look like which could be 11am – 4pm or 12pm – 5pm. We are targeting regular schedule hours or a part time – 25-hour regular work week. In special situations some extra hours may be needed.
