Meriplex Communications is Hiring a DevOps Engineer Near Houston, TX

We are a growing organizing building on our success to find motivated DevOps Engineers to enrich and elevate the customer experience. Ideally, you will have proven experience in leveraging your cross-functional expertise in diagnosing, troubleshooting, and resolving network issues involving network configuration, software installation and upgrades. The DevOps Engineerposition is responsible for the custom integration and automation within Meriplex platforms. This position primarily focuses on ticketing, RMM, and reporting platforms. Must be able to work collaboratively within our current design parameters for scalability.

  • Possess a results driven mindset while maintaining professionalism under high pressure while serving as the escalation point for complex technical issues. We look to this role to be the first call to action when a customer needs our support during these outside of traditional hours shifts. This role will have KPIs and success metrics like other positions within Meriplex, however, the successful candidate will want to not only achieve those but exceed the deliverable.  
  • Maintain accurate history and status of issues in ConnectWise ticketing system. Manage tickets and perform follow up with internal/external organizations regarding client related issues. Set your team up for success. Nobody likes to be left in the dark.   • Interaction with key stakeholders helping to drive projects through the finish line and onward to improve customer experience. Build and maintain rapport and trust within the organization through frequent communication, responsive ownership of deliverables, and collaboration with colleagues.   • Successfully provide various levels of support for customer networks across multiple technologies and vendors including but not limited to: RMM tools, VMware ESX/ESXi 6.x, Enterprise Cloud Backup Solutions, Zerto, Network Infrastructure Services (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
  • Potentially partner with leadership to rework SOPs for new updates and change controls to ensure we are following a unified response. What can we say? We like structure.

Let’s work together to succeed together! A minimum of 3 years of experience with the followingtechnical applications is a good start:

  • Development of MSP system integration and migration tools
    • Have 3-5 years of experience in development and deployment of applications interacting with REST API interfaces and SQL databases.
    • Familiar with standard scripting languages such as: Python, PowerShell, JavaScript, C#
    • Familiar with management and queries of Microsoft SQL database management
    • Solid understanding of interacting with other standard operating systems such as Windows and Linux based environments.
    • Ability to translate a business problem into a technical solution.
    • Ability to adapt applications to confirm with security and governance requirements.
    • Investigate Pattern Recognition and Data Analytics
  • Lifecycle and documentation
    • Must be able to adapt and update code on a regular basis as needs, endpoints, inputs, requirements, etc. change.
    • Must be effective at documentation of the lifecycle process. Code generations should be routinely documented and reviewed for accuracy.
  • Management & Design of RMM Platform
    • Have over 3-5 years of experience in administration and deployment of RMM software tools. Working knowledge of Kaseya and ConnectWise Automate are highly preferred.
    • Experience with onboarding and offboarding from RMM platforms
    • Must have experience with RMM-centric scripting languages and procedures.
    • Clear understanding of asset management, software inventory management, patching policies, monitoring, and alerting.
    • Service Desk is a plus but not required

About 3 years of experience in the following areas will set you up to speed through your interview process in this role:

  • Excellent organizational skills including the ability to work effectively in a dynamic and changing environment
  • Understand departmental budgets

Desired Skills

  • Expert knowledge of TCP/IP/DHCP and DNS
  • Expert knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server Architecture, Active Directory, and GPOs
  • Expert knowledge of Kaseya and other RMM platforms.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Proven work experience as a lead systems engineer with a managed service provider background
  • Solid technical background with an ability to give instructions to both a technical and non-technical audience

Desired Certification:

  • Kaseya Certified Admin
  • SQL Certifications

Work Schedule/Travel - Standard Meriplex business hours of 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM with the ability to have a flexible schedule and take after-hours calls due to work volume and proposal deadlines are a must. The ability to travel up to 10% may be required based on project requirements.
