Job Summary

Responsible for partnering with Director of Commercial Training and Development to update and implement existing sales training content. Will ensure inside and field sales professionals have a thorough understanding of product offerings, market competition and can effectively use selling skills in executing the entire sales cycle from prospect to close. Develop an expert knowledge of the entire Meridian sales process to provide support, analyze and improve current programs. Contribute to generating new sales ideas that drive optimal sales force effectiveness.

Key Duties

  • In partnership with the Director of Commercial Training and Development ensures consistent delivery of sales training curriculum.
  • Partners with sales and marketing leaders to ensure understanding of product portfolio, geography specific market dynamics and learning needs and modifies sales training programs to meet those needs.
  • Manages New Hires through onboarding process and assists with all new hire sales training programs as part of the new hire sales education pathway.
  • Collaborates in the creation of advanced sales training programs, workshops, and competitive selling modules on a continual basis, assessing current field-facing issues, then delivering selling workshops that are designed to proactively sell the advantages of our products over the competition.
  • Recognizes and understands competitive products, industry trends and Meridian’s portfolio to include competitive selling talk tracks into all training curriculum as a primary focus of the role.
  • Co-travels with Account Executives (AE) and Senior Account Executives (SAE) roles, as needed to provide coaching on training, ensure training consistency and build relationships with customers and AE’s and SAE’s.
  • Measures effectiveness of training programs and develops reports and comprehensive program analysis.
  • Effectively support and serve as an advisor AE’s, SAE’s, and Sales leaders.
  • Provides strategic insight to Director of Training and Development and VP of Sales for continuous evolution of all training programs.

Qualifications

  • Experience developing sales tools, education, and training programs to boost sales skills, technical competency, and overall effectiveness.
  • Requires an exceptional understanding of standard business practices related to sales operations processes and systems (sales cycle, sales methodology, CRM applications, reporting, forecasting and territory management).
  • Familiarity with and ability to apply adult learning and instructional design philosophies, strategies, and theories to variousl types of projects including and beyond the curriculum.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation, and professional speaking skills to include classroom facilitation.
  • Advanced understanding of sales processes, preferably in medical Capital Equipment sales.
  • Must be able to manage multiple priorities and assignments simultaneously.
  • Ability to influence and collaborate across business functions.
  • Demonstrated ability to articulate learning objectives that are focused, concise, and measurable.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in business, healthcare, or Science required.
  • At least 3 years of professional sales experience, or a sales and coaching role including experience in the development and delivery of technical training (preferably within the diagnostics industry).
  • Strong experience in delivering live, virtual, and blended learning.
  • Exposure to Strategic Selling, Professional Selling Skills programs is a plus.
  • Certified or willing to complete certification based on achieved milestones (via vendor Train-the-Trainer processes) to train sales methodologies, such as Richardson, Ignite Sales, and Miller Heiman.

    • Average of 50%. Must be able to travel by car/air.

    • Must have the ability to lift 20 pounds of supplies or finished product throughout the work day.

    • Must be able to concentrate, analyze and solve complex issues throughout the course of the work day
    • Ability to work on a PC including repetitive use of a keyboard and mouse routinely throughout the course of the work day
    • Ability to sit/stand for long periods of time, reach, bend, stoop and lift throughout the course of the work day.
