MERCER TRANSPORTATION is Hiring a Regional Sales Manager Near Poteau, OK

Regional Sales Managers (responsible for SW region of Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas and Kansas) are responsible for driving business growth initiatives that leverage our highly differentiated solutions and achieve significant financial growth for Mercer Transportation.

Essential Job Functions

  1. Develop and implement a robust plan to achieve significant growth within the territory.
  2. Align with distributor network to promote significant growth in region through identifying opportunities at major accounts and ensuring consistent regular follow-up with accountability for results.
  3. Travel to meet key customers and maintain relationships. Spend a minimum of 60% of time in field making sales calls.
  4. Coordinate sales efforts of field offices, and forwards sales efforts to Supervisor for national account representatives and central freight personnel.
  5. Maintains a thorough knowledge and familiarity with the total active customer base in assigned territory to include rate information.
  6. Develops and maintains agents in the assigned territory.
  7. Remain knowledgeable of competition in territory.
  8. Maintains ongoing dialogue with agents in assigned territory.
  9. Works collaboratively on new marketing and sales strategies.
  10. Keeps all sales activities current through programs provided. Submits clear, concise, and complete Sales Call Reports in a timely manner with follow-up plans as needed.

Essential Skills and Experience

  1. Demonstrated ability to identify and engage with target accounts, overcoming roadblocks along the way, to achieve higher than market rate growth and new customer penetration.
  2. Strong acumen and experience with Value Prop / Value Selling, Sales Processes and CRM specifically SalesForce.
  3. Strong interpersonal, writing and presentation skills including the ability to communicate with all levels of management and audiences with diverse backgrounds and educational levels. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  4. Takes independent actions; Responds promptly to customer needs, seeks opportunities to improve processes and implements creative solutions.
  5. Develops innovative approaches and ideas; Presents ideas and information in a manner that persuades positive interactions.
  6. Strong analytical and research skills including the ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  7. Provides full attention to what other people are saying, respectfully communicates by taking time to understand the points being made and asks questions at appropriate times to obtain clarification.
  8. Excels in prioritizing daily functions and dealing with multiple deadlines and high volumes of work. Plans work activities for employees and/or sales campaigns and develop realistic action plans.

Education Requirements:

  1. Minimum 5 years of sales experience within the Transportation or Industrial industry – Proven track record of closing new business.
  2. Education: College Graduate - BA or BS required.
