MBRDNA is headquartered in Silicon Valley, California, with key areas of Autonomous Driving, Advanced Interaction Design, Digital User Experience, Machine Learning, Customer Research, and Open Innovation. In Farmington Hills, Michigan, the focus is on Powertrain and eDrive technology as well as in Long Beach, where the teams test durability of the latest driver assistant and telematic systems. The Digital Hub in Seattle focusses on developing a cloud architecture and building out the cloud platform for the next generation of connected car services. The Testing and Regulatory Affairs Division in Ann Arbor and the Advanced Vehicle Design in Carlsbad complete the competence center.

Mercedes-Benz Research & Development North America, Inc. (MBRDNA) is seeking a Customer Insight Analyst to join the US Experience team. This is a full-time, exempt position based out our offices located in Long Beach, CA.

The US Experience team strives to establish Mercedes-Benz as a technology leader in the US luxury segment by translating the combined (one) voice of the US customer in impactful propositions that enhance the customer experience and create market pull. Our goal is to deliver research and broad knowledge that can influence and drive innovation in the US market In terms of improved features and different touch points throughout the customer journey.

Job Responsibilities:

  • The Customer Insight Analyst is responsible for providing a comprehensive market and customer view to support decision making around features and propositions that will enhance Mercedes-Benz customer’s technology and digital experiences.
  • It includes:
  • Effective use of internal and market data to derive trends, use cases, patterns and customer behavior.
  • Work with internal key subject matter experts in identifying problem statements and using scenario analysis to propose countermeasures.
  • Run specific market research projects, including framing the problem, defining the scope, defining research methodology and managing external party when necessary.
  • Understand customer behavior and preferences In how to Interact, use and experience technology.
  • Create and manage a repository of customer and competitive related Information for the US Experience team.
  • Join working groups within MBRDNA and other areas of the company to share findings and insights as well as Identify areas of collaboration.
  • Effectively communicate findings with the broader organization and future research needs.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Minimum 5 years of market research experience with strong strategic and analytic skills.
  • Bachelor degree in Marketing, Business, or related field of study. Master’s degree is a plus.
  • Proven capability to think systemically, strategically, analytically and executing decisively.
  • Ability to integrate data/findings from other research to provide a holistic perspective.
  • Understanding of automotive, tech, and luxury sectors.
  • Understanding of the US market with deep understanding of cultural and social aspects.
  • Ability to use data of various sources to connect the dots and derive insights and trends.
  • Extensive experience with a variety of qualitative research methodologies and tools for foresight.
  • Experience In conducting research with third parties with clarity and successful outcomes.
  • Proven track record of identifying a pattern and working with the technical teams in proposing a solution.
  • Sharp, incisive thinking will help create outcomes that are clear, focused, and specific.
  • Both a specialist and a generalist with the ability to deep dive on certain aspects of research.
  • Self-motivated, striving for personal and team success.
  • Can work independently and juggle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong people skills and ability to influence strategy and decision-making.
  • Skilled in Microsoft PowerPoint and create high-impact and highly informative presentations.
  • Exceptional presentation skills and can engage audiences in various levels in the organization.
  • Storytelling and ability to distil a large complex context into a simple to understand narrative.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Frequent use of speech, vision, hearing, use of hands for computer use and presentations. Frequent sitting, standing and reaching with hands.
