Job Summary
This role will provide Memorial Hermann Health System (MHSS) executives and Service line leaders the information and tools required to make efficient data-based decisions on identified challenges. These challenges include but are not limited to population health, clinical outcomes, consumer experience, and operational effectiveness. This role will be tasked to become competent about the business of the respective Service Line while transforming data and information into actionable insights that answer complex business questions. The role will aid service line leaders to discover opportunities as well as conceive and implement new metrics for parts of the respective service line.
This role will be responsible for understanding the respective service line, collating, organizing, normalizing and visualizing service line data from disparate sources and performing descriptive/diagnostic analytics as well as some statistical analysis.Job Description
Minimum Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's or Advanced degree (Industrial Psychology, Data Sciences, Computer Science, Business Administration, Statistics or Anthropology) required.
Licenses/Certifications: Associate Certified Analytics Professional (aCAP) or another vendor-neutral analytics certification preferred
Experience / Knowledge / Skills:
  • Three (3) years of professional experience collaborating with customers on the creation and execution of an analytics and business intelligence vision and roadmap
  • Experience in building analytic reports, dashboards and tools for end-customer, self-service decision-making and action metric monitoring
  • Demonstrated experience working in a dynamic, matrixed organization with executive exposure
  • Advanced proficiency with the following tools: MS Office Suite: Excel (Pivot tables, VBA, Macros), Word, PowerPoint, Visio, Access; Visualization tools - Tableau (preferred), Sisense, Qlik or Microsoft PowerBI; Statistical tools - R Studio, SAS or other statistical tools for data analysis.

Principal Accountabilities
  • Ongoing interactions with domain experts within the organization to enhance own knowledge of business and clinical processes and applications utilized by the respective service line clients
  • Partner with respective clinical and operational service line clients to design, develop and implement the roadmap for analytics and reporting to provide actionable operational, strategic and tactical metrics for optimal service line management
  • In Partnership with the Enterprise Analytics team, determine the strategy to evolve MHHS Analytics maturity level from descriptive to diagnostic, predictive and prescriptive outcomes
  • Collaborate with the Information System Division to develop the data architecture strategy, implementation plan and customer-delivered toolset
  • Active participant of the MHHS Data Governance Stewardship process
  • Perform regular and ad-hoc analysis to produce user-friendly reports and visualizations for executive and client review
  • Continuous improvement of existing processes to detect data anomalies as well as analyze and distribute information by incorporating new techniques, initiatives and technologies
  • Provide support from problem analysis through resolution to correct deficiencies within analytic, reporting and visualization applications
  • Attend national conferences and further training to build skill sets and analytic proficiency to ensure MHHS remains on the cutting edge of the Healthcare industry
  • Key member of the project team responsible for training new analytic professionals to meet the established standard
  • Ensures safe care to patients, staff and visitors; adheres to all Memorial Hermann policies, procedures, and standards within budgetary specifications including time management, supply management, productivity and quality of service
  • Promotes individual professional growth and development by meeting requirements for mandatory/continuing education and skills competency; supports department-based goals which contribute to the success of the organization; serves as preceptor, mentor and resource to less experienced staff
  • Other duties as assigned
