The Role

The Data Specialist is a detail-oriented role in which responsibilities include ensuring accurate and on time attendance reporting; efficient, and properly verified enrollment of all students; maintaining student data and records; accurate and thorough reporting; and providing operational support. This role utilizes the student information platforms and supports school leadership in achieving attendance goals and compliance. This position will report to the Director of Operations, and is part of the Operations team supporting all initiatives of that team.

System & Platform Management

  • Serves as an administrative school user of PowerSchool student information system, providing support to other users at the school.
Attendance & Enrollment Management
  • Supports the entire attendance process, ensuring timely reporting of student daily and period attendance.
  • Supports the enrollment processes, including new student enrollment, re-enrollment and withdrawals. 
  • Verifies student eligibility for enrollment, including residency verification, income verification, and placement testing, where applicable.
Student Records Management
  • Supports the storage and organization of physical and digital student records.
  • Oversees the entry of grades for quarterly report cards, and generates report cards for all students.
  • Maintains records of all standardized testing data.
Compliance & Reporting
  • Generates regular reports on student attendance for school leadership and attendance teams.
  • Ensures accuracy of reports, and timely reporting of all state, federal, and district reports, where applicable.
Operations Supports
  • Provides assistance to other initiatives of the school Operations team, as needed.
  • Serves as the liaison between the school and the MSS Network and school district, where applicable. 
Educational Background and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, equivalent experience and education will be taken into consideration.
  • Experience supporting a fast-paced work environment
  • Experience working with a team
  • Experience in a service industry, preferred
  • Experience working and supporting in underserved communities, preferred
  • Ability to lift 40 lbs., kneel, sit or stand for longer periods of time

The salary range for the position is between $37,000 to $50,000 annually. Our compensation is competitive and commensurate based on experience.
